Back in 2010, I was a lost soul drowning in the depths of self discovery while trying to find my place in this world. My dear Auntie Dawn allowed me an opportunity of a life time to try and make a name for myself in southern California. It was during these 10 weeks residing with her that I uncovered a colossal piece of the puzzle. My anxiety and panic stemmed largely from my 5 senses being overly sensitive to the stimuli of my environment. Things that would annoy the average person seemed to have a dramatic effect on how my senses perceived them and in turn produced chronic flight/flight panic attacks and a constant state of anxiety. Apparently, over 20% of the United States is "Highly Sensitive", yet many of these people mask their symptoms with drugs, drink, prescribed pills, etc...Where I on the other hand have learned to embrace being a little different. No doubt it sucks and I sometimes wish that I was more desensitized...but it is what it is and though each day may be struggle, I try and find the beauty in everything. Long story short, when I was staying with my Aunt, she said that it was time for me to write happy music. And so I began playing on her piano. Slowly...the notes registered in my mind and before I knew it...I had composed my first instrumental music piece. Now i have not had the means to record these songs up until recently. But this was the first one and is very special and dear to me. I only stayed with it and finished it because she continually encouraged me and believed in the beauty that was to be. And so as humble tribute to my loving and wonderful Auntie Dawn, I dedicate this song to you. I figured a majestic corn field was appropriate for my background image given the corn on the cob origins of this song(inside joke) :)

Thank you for helping me discover me! I love you more than you will ever know~

And today, 08-13-15 a revelation has been revealed to me about my music. Instead of trying to write for celebrities and recording artists, I think I'm going to focus more on instrumental scores for television and movies!! SO COOL!!! :)

Instrumental - Fields of Illumination August132015

I know that it may sound a little silly to some people; but every once and awhile, an actor or actress comes along who delivers a performance with such unfailing precision that it utterly provokes sheer emotion.  The conviction and flawless execution of character emulation resonates completely with the audience while spawning unmistakable feelings that transpose and transcend beyond imagination.  

Many of you don’t know this, but I was in a really dark place about 6 years ago.  I left my family, friends, and a great job here in Minnesota to pursue a relationship with a woman in San Francisco, California.  The relationship ended quite poorly and I was in denial and a depressive state for several months thereafter.  I don’t recall whether it was Netflix or Starz that drew my attention to “Spartacus Blood and Sand”(Perhaps it happened simultaneously as each episode was available on Netflix the day after it aired on Starz)

Long story short, I immediately noticed the brilliance in the awe-inspiring and alluring performance of the show’s main character Spartacus, who was played by the magnificently talented Andy Whitfield.  For those that don’t know of his story, “Spartacus Blood and Sand” was the very series that would catapult this man’s bright future as he exceeded expectations and consistently delivered an exemplary performance throughout the entire season!   His acting was so authentically raw and true to purpose, that I forgot that I was watching a television show.  His performance spoke volumes to my heart so much so that it actually eradicated the majority of the pain that yet lingered from my atrociously negative breakup.  It is with a heavy heart that I will never be able to thank the man in person for he had lost a brave yet rapidly aggressive battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma on September 11th, 2011.  Although I will not be able to thank him personally, I have written and composed a very special song in honor and tribute to Andy Whitfield, his family, and the positively profound impact he has had on my life.  I have devoted this song, “Familiar Whispers” to Andy, his wife Vashti, and his children (Jesse & Indigo).  May it bring them joy, comfort, and happy memory of the husband, the father, and of the phenomenal talent that was prematurely called upon to fly amongst angels.  Forever watching over his family, a butterfly angel omnipresent; that is loving, guiding…and can always be found/heard from behind Familiar Whispers…

Instrumental - Familiar Whispers

I recently started writing musical compositions with an emphasis on med-evil & fantasy based themes.  A couple of months ago, I shared one of those songs with the audience fan page of The Quest.  Rob Eric, one of The Quest EP's, not only took the time from his busy schedule to listen to my song, but he was the first to leave a comment for me!  This really meant a lot to me and I wanted to do something really big to show my gratitude to Rob as his kinds words inspired me.  Therefore, I decided to write an inspired song for Rob to show my thanks and appreciation which I am symbolically posting today, the 23rd of the month AKA HERO day!  My hope is that the song inspires him as he writes and modifies and tweaks his new novel, "the Last King" and future works.  And if nothing else, I hope it provides ear candy for Rob and all those that love the fantasy world and are part of this magical family. Instrumental - A Beautiful Death

Julie Plec and Carina MacKenzie(Executive Producers/Show Runners for the Vampire Diaries) started encouraging fans to submit their works of art on Fridays ergo "Fang Art Friday".  However, this seemed to be strictly limited to paintings and/or drawings.  While I cannot paint a picture with pixels, I can paint a picture with musical notes.  Therefore, I decided to push the envelope and devoted some time creating a short 1 min instrumental(plug) for Julie, Carina, and TVD/The Originals fans as music is also a form of art right?  :)  Enjoy all~ xoxox

Old Wounds

I have a tremendous amount of respect for the creative genius and collaborative efforts put forth by any that attempt to deliver fantasy based pictures, movies, television shows to geeky actors and fans like me!  I've been sick the past 4 days and was unable to celebrate Christmas with my family :(  Therefore, I decided to harness what strength I had and wrote a fantasy based original song kind of like a teaser or preview for some extraordinary gentlemen that have brought Shannara Chronicles to life.  This song Ascension, is for you Al, Miles, Dan, Terry and entire cast and crew!!  Thank you bringing Magic to life!!

Watching the premiere of MTV's new hit series, "The Shannara Chronicles" last Tuesday, I was blown away by Poppy Drayton's performance of Terry Brooks' character "Amberle".  I was so moved in fact that I spent the last week writing a song for her.  I tried to encompass 3 things in this short 90 musical score:
1) Her beauty
2) Her strength
3) Her grace   
The song is also broken into 3 separate pieces so if you listen closely, you should be able to actually hear the intended changes to reflect her beauty, strength, and graceful elegance!  I love the fantasy genre and it was an absolute pleasure to write and devote a song so this young talented actress!  The entire cast and crew on this show is phenomenal!  I live in MN and have no agent so although my dreams of acting and provoking emotion on screen may never be realized or see the light of day, at least I can compose beautiful music and share my songs from time to time with the world.  Terry, Jon, Miles, Al, Dan, Sonar Entertainment, MTV, and all involved with the Shannara project...thank you for bringing it to life and thank you Poppy for inspiring probably one of my finest pieces of work!  I have nothing more than a cheap keyboard so I apologize if the song sounds choppy and not very professional.  I hope you all enjoy this angelic melody entitled "Amberle's Melody"~ A reflection of the character and a testament to the woman that brought her to life!  :)  Cheers~

Phase 1 - provide the completed blueprint/template of a song or musical composition.
