Their Hudson Square EP - now a vinyl collector's item going for high prices on Discogs - garnered thumbs ups from both critics and peers and, seemingly overnight, turned them into internationally in-demand club djs. Their EP for WOLF continues the tradition with three beautifully crafted club hits perfect for anytime of the night. Greymatter delivers his trademark sound taking things rougher while still maintaining the soul leanings of the original track."

Its been Local Talk bosses Mad Mats & Toolis secret weapon during their DJ sets over the past months and have destroyed clubs from London to Berlin. With a super catchy chord theme, bumpy 4/4 beats and a slight UK feel this is as bad as it gets. Its just one of those tunes you immediately recognize and can relate with. 

Together with a deep journey house remix from AD Bourke and a fierce UK inspired bass/house mix from Colognes HADE we dare to say that this is one the finest releases on Local Talk so far.

The Nail Shop is a relatively new London based record label established in 2016 but only releasing their first two EPs in 2017. As their name implies, cheeky references to manis and pedis are regularly found but the real focus is on the music. Showcasing impeccable A&R skills from the get-go, they've managed to release polished sounding records from Speed Boat (one half of New Zealand duo, Sandboards) and Maniqin, both solo debuts for the artists in question. Although their sound is as of yet hard to pin down, it's clear that there is a heavy focus on the dancefloor, with both records undeniably causing some ruckus and already being championed by some leading influencers.

The Nail Shop's third EP is set to hit shelves soon and once again comes from New Zealand. 2XM are Liam and Benjamin Murray or 2 x Murrays. Although this is not quite a debut release for them, they're still relatively unknown with a number of self-released titles and a mellow sounding track out on Dream Raw Recordings, evidence of the label's knack for spotting talent early on display once again. The "Rendezvous" EP, named after arguably the most club-worthy track of the bunch, is a mix of mellow sounds and dancefloor friendly cuts with jazzy influences aplenty. Our premiere and the A1, 2AM leans towards the latter, although still easy to listen to we can easily see it dealing some damage with footwork friendly rhythms, anticipatory buildups and breaks, mesmerizing keys and a perfectly groovy bassline.

@storyaboutyou2017 is a new label based in Bielefeld, a north-western German city infamous for being a myth constructed and kept alive by the Illuminati. Or so some jokers/conspiracy theorists would have you believe. Of course the city is very real, as is the label, who are too real to play the PR game for now. Out next month, their third release features a variety of artists, separated by geography but united under the banner of deep house.

Our pick is a track by young producer and label co-founder @interstate98, who's previously released on the Danish imprint Waxtefacts. Built around a backdrop of syrupy synths, 'Sweetest Pain' is a soulful, old-skool stomper featuring the dreamy vocals of Australian singer Quails.

Nomada's final digital release of the year is upon us. We've got the wonky, funked up remix from Intr0beatz of new project Donnie Moustaki. Lashings of wobbly, hip-hop inspired beats and effervescent chords is the name of the game here. These guys clearly know how to sample and chop. And as always with Nómada Records, top artwork!
