We are very pleased to welcome Granada's finest, Mordisco to Paper Recordings with an EP that is 'a tribute to the 90s sound' and delivers in spades.

Musica de Baile has clean and crisp production, fizzing percussive arps and a krautrock synth that builds in wonderfulness as the track develops.  Is it deep house, space disco or balearic?  Who cares when its this good!

Nahual gets lush with Mordisco's sparking production.  Heavy on atmospherics, the bass drives things along as synth lines weave in and out and the dynamics build in to a trip for the head and feet.

We are back with another fresh EP all the way from Puebla / Mexico guided by our new uprising talents: The Velvet Stripes A.K.A. Leo Cid & Abu Barrett, delivering four incredible cuts filled with joy and freshness blended in perfection. For our magic opening we start with 'Rumba, Samba, Rambo' sampling a classic 90's Euro-House anthem with a prominent bassline and latin piano chords transforming it into a superb tropical cut ready to hit all dance floors. For our second course 'Dancin' Shoes' comes in the form of a magical disco potion with sexy - hypnotizing female vocals, arpeggiated synths for the lower end and outstanding drums making it a must-have boogie gem on our disco list. Our third cut 'Tony Grey' arrives as a tribute edit to the Nigerian master itself with a bumpy bassline, drums filled with steroids and extraordinary synths giving this number a modern taste to it. For our last but not least 'Instant Funk' brings balance to the release with a modern tropical approach with its rich percussion section, super fresh guitar riffs and mystical trumpets. Although he's contributed numerous tracks to recent compilations, this three-tracker from Frank Virgilio is actually the enthusiastic label-hopper's first single since the spring. He begins by applying his magic touch to a prime slice of horn-heavy purple funk, wrapping the original's flash-fried guitars, tasty trumpets and scat style vocals around a chunky disco-house style groove. He dips the tempo - but not the floor-friendly intensity - on "Cat In Rio", a low-slung dub disco affair that boasts a suitably heavy bassline and plenty of sun-kissed, samba-soaked synths, while closing cut "Matt's Ring" is a loopy, disco-house style cut-up of Matsubara's "SOS", a jazz-funk/disco fusion classic that used to get regular rotation at David Mancuso's legendary Loft parties.
