[...]what world waits silent for a sign tonight?

We fired a thousand satellites bearing wishes up
into the atmosphere, like lanterns.
Each rising light a dream, a question borne on the night.
We dreamed gravity away: we spoke of flight
and sculpted molten earth into wings.
We broke free into weightless, silent space
and there we stand, alone.

And so we send up voices[...]
