Admittedly i've had a really hard time getting motivated and trying to come up with ideas for Advanced that don't stray too far from the original tune.
Here's what i've worked on since last time, there is a break where the real Bass cuts out to a Synth one just because that's made it easier to block out how I want to write it before recording it on a real one, while going back and forth between the two with ideas.
There is some clipping in this render as well, so sorry about that. If you have any thoughts feel free to chime in. Also: The Vocoder likes to misbehave and so on the second loop when it starts it has drifted a lot. >_>

The Sega Saturn "hard rock" remix of Bloody Tears has always been a favorite of mine. But the in game versions don't really do the arrangement justice I think(Well, not like there are any remixes of this version anyway)

So I started this last year and a friend convinced me to enter it unfinished for MAGfest Dwelling of Duels. I wish I had waited.

About 4 months ago I started these as a proof of concept/WIP for this idea of an arrangement album of Ace Attorney 1.

So these aren't properly mixed, may have clipping and might not be very good.

The idea is to use the original arrangement as a basis and expand upon it and add more later in the song.

This is a cover as close as possible that I could create for my Grandia II Soundtrack Mod

I don't have nearly the same equipment as was used for the originally. So I just had to try and get it to sound as similar as possible.

The volume here is lower than the one used in the Mod, just because I spent so much time making this that the resonant frequencies really started to cause my ears pain.

I don't have nearly the same equipment as was used for the originally. So I just had to try and get it to sound as similar as possible. By default, I do not have any Harp samples that sound remotely like the original. This made getting it to sound similar difficult.

It's just an extra optional track in the mod because the original music stems for this track specifically is not present on the OST A Deus without other instruments in the mix that mess with the context and looping.

I am a HUGE Metal Gear fan, I cannot even describe how much love and passion I have for this series(Everything) and I've always wanted to do arrangements of classic Metal Gear music in a style akin to the modern games. This Jingle medley was a testbed for me and a lot of stuff so I could learn. From crazy custom Snare ensembles, to Reverb sends, to Stage Drumkit panning, to Synth filtering and programming,and a ton of other stuff)

But as such, It's a bit disjointed and I had a hard time with the composition on this one when I made it. So I hope you can forgive that and enjoy it for what it is!

This is my entry for CAPCOM's Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Music tribute!
I found out at the last minute about this event and so I spent the last 2 weeks(before May 7th,2012) grinding to get this song done! I LOVE DAN, HE'S MAH STREETEST FIGHTER(see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ASJacW9ogw). Before making this I had never heard a Dan Remix. And then I discovered there were a bunch. I WAS SAD YO. BUT FEAR NOT. I only listened to the Original CPS2 version and the CPS1 Conversion of the music for inspiration!
I wanted to express how funny , loveable, sometimes serious , and how passionate Dan can be in one song! 
Basically: His personality.

Maybe I achieved that! Maybe I didn't. But I sure as hell tried!

Stop listening AT the guitar solo. I was drunk I when I made the second half of this song. And it's complete and utter shit. Please Just consider that the song just ends abrubtly at that point hah.


Mega Man X4 | Zero OP Stage 80's Remix | BONKERS -2010/2012-

I've never heard an arrangement of Metal Squad that did the Heavy original justice!
Official arrangements always had the guitar played an octave up and made the song seem more like an 80's Rock song rather than a heavy Metal rock fest.
I've always wanted to do this song justice! But up until recently I never believed I possessed the skill to make a worthy version! Come Christmas Eve I decdied "fuck it, i'm gonna make this song in a week for MAGFest X! and make it with FM Synth+Moog Bass! It's gonna be a heavy Metal FM tribute!" 

So I did!

However, I did turmoil with the song structure. The way the original song is done , I find to be so perfect and it has a great feeling to the whole thing.
I didn't want to change that too much, but I still wanted to find my middle ground as always.
I found that by changing  up the end of the first chorus and the second intro into variations/harmonized/new lines it helped keep the feeling of the original structure of the piece while striking some middle ground. And then there is the break down sections which are all love love love tributes to the Sega Genesis's FM sound. It started as just the one section of the first verse into it. But then I found Requiem of a nameless victim would be PERFECT to add into it without dragging Metal squad on too long. But then I also had before remembered a melody that went perfect with the section.
BUT I COULDN'T REMEMBER WHAT GAME IT WAS FROM. So I sat and sat thinking of what it was and then it hit me it was Phantasy Star Online. So I found which song and poof there it was! and it was only a key a Half step away from what I remembered.

I tried to play all the guitar lines as physically possible without cheating. As you'll see in the intro, I just couldn't do that part accurately/fast enough. I could play it perfectly @ 75% speed but my picking hand just can't keep up. I'm a little ashamed of that haha.


I also did something I've never done before. Both on purpose and as an experiment, I programmed the bass with a FM patch from the DX7 layered on a sub bass sound from a Minimoog.
I think the result is REALLY FREAKIN COOL.
I can't state how much I LOOOOVE Moog and FM Synth basses.
I really wanted to try something different rather than an electric bass to stay true to Metal Squad's FM roots!


I hope you guys enjoy this! I had a blast creating it! The last day I worked on it for nearly 24hours straight to finish it!

I arrange, write, record and produce various music. Mostly arrangements of Video Game Music! I love VGM so much, 90% of my music library consists of VGM. Without it, I dont' know who i'd be today. It's a huge part of me and my life. I could never give it up.
And even though a many of my Arrangements 
are metal/rock in Nature, I like to diversify a LOT 
depending on the source material.  Also the arrangements can be very eclectic and different than you'd traditionally expect. Often a lot of those were due to temporary insanity and depression and lack of sleep or too much sleep. Or all of the above!
