This piece features mostly acoustic guitar with some clean electric to start it off. I always like messing with synthetic instruments and blending them with organic, and that happens mostly in the second section of the song.  I really enjoyed the score to The Last of Us, which reminded me a lot of Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, so I think that's what steered me towards creating one like this.

All You Can Do

For upcoming collaborative album featuring various composers writing themes for superheroes and villains. I chose Dr. Manhattan for the superhero and Two Face for the villain. Dr. Manhattan is an extremely complex character that broke many boundaries in the genre—As he began his journey as a scientist that got caught in the wrong side of his own experiments, he later finds his new ability to interact with reality on an inter-dimensional level of existence has greatly diminished his ability to operate on a subjective level. The story of Dr. Manhattan has always struck me as one of the most multi-layered and mature takes on what kinds of complications might be attached to becoming a superhero.

As part of the Audio Comics Universe project, Two Face is the villain that  I chose as I wanted to attempt the feeling for a villain with such a dichotomous personality. With that came the obvious creative approach with lighter tones against the darker qualities, but I attempted to emphasise the fact that the sinister characteristics of Harvey "Two-Face" Dent actually do exist on both sides.

Microid was successfully funded on Kickstarter and is coming soon to Android and iOS. It is a quirky science simulator that uses claymation figures and stop-motion animation to give it a really fun feel.

Propulsion

Part of the score for "Old Saint Nick," directed by Nick Crowhurst and produced by Jodie Kirkbride of Sunset Odyssey. With Home Alone and Trading Places as reference for inspiration, it was a huge blast working on this film as part of Adelaide's 48 Hour Film Challenge.

DIVE Starpath follows the story of Juno, someone who is hired to salvage valuables in the midst of various spaceship wreckage sites. I loved working with Gravity Well on this because it allowed me to tap into the feelings I get from the wonders of space, as explored in films like Interstellar and games like Mass Effect, and from presentations from astrophysicists Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Brian Cox. Juno

As a project we hope to see to completion soon, this is a reimagining of The Legend of Zelda in a post apocalyptic/futuristic setting. Note the nods to traditional themes you may know and love, but my personal favorite part was taking the gorgeous vocals of Clara Sorace and slowing the pacing way down in the classic "Fairy Fountain" piece we've heard throughout the history of this game.

Expanse

In this course, we were assigned to demonstrate our abilities in Logic Pro by choosing from a collection of about a hundred MIDI songs, and do a remake/remix of one of them. Seeing as "90's rock" was a category, I chose this one from the Deftones list. I always get a laugh of karaoke-ed versions of awesome songs, as they in no way bring the same emotion to the table as the original. I suppose that's why everyone gets drunk for karaoke. Am I even spelling that right? Anyway, I love the Deftones, so I went with this one.

Created with FM8, a Logic drum kit, and BLEED library by Sampletraxx. BLEED is optimal for sound design purposes, but when put through the Kontakt player, you can utilise it like a music instrument, which is the most fun for me.
