Nick Cavoli Quintet

The idea of this quintet originally starts from the Italian trumpet player, who after moving from Rome to Berlin in 2020, tries to establish relationships with the jazz scene of the new metropolis. Rather than a band, this is an international project involving musicians from all over the world, from Argentina to Japan. During the lockdown, there was a chance to meet and experiment playing together outdoors at first and then in clubs and at bigger events. They already have a set date to record their first EP, at the beginning of July 2021 and will be having serval gigs in the Berlin area. The concept which connects all these different musicians is the love for the so-called “Standard songs” which they like re-interpreting and arranging in their own way taking their inspiration from artists such Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Thelonius Monk, the Jazz Messengers and Lenny Tristano.

I Fall In Love Too Easily

So I made this little instrumental from the popular iPhone ringtone called marimba. I threw in some drums and other electronic percussion, some bass and synth and this is the result (made in Acid 7.0).

iPhone RingTone

This is sort of a chill track centered around electric organ. It has guitar, electric organ, vibes, piano, and drums (brushes, not sticks). Still Acid 7.0, tracks over tracks (might get new software soon :D).

Stand

This is a really echoey mellow track that's sort of like shoegaze. It has guitar, bass, piano, some weird synth type thing, and bass drum. It's kinda nice, again, just Acid 7, tracks over tracks.

Daydream

This track is a little quiet, not sure what happened.. You can hear it a lot better with headphones. Not sure what genre this is so I'll call it indie. (acid 7.0).

This is a song I thought of a while ago but didn't record until now. It's kinda cool, the best part is the end. Still using Acid 7.0, laying tracks over tracks.

This one is pretty chill. This is the first song I've done on my new computer with the new version of acid, so some stuff is a little bit weird. Overall it's kinda cool.. used Acid 9.0 :D
