This is a rough mix of a track I recorded for a spur of the moment acoustic album in the Summer of 2014. The song is much older. And while I do not hold this incarnation of it to be final i think i can hear the heartbeat and enough of the juice in this version to feel it has legs.

If I Take That Risk (Would It Lead Me Away From You)

The album is titled: The Stars Only Love You When You're Not Alone.

We themed our FAWM project around the End Of Days theories that giggled through the internet around that time. You may remember: Mayan calendar, the end of the 13th baktun, a mysterious planet named Nibiru that was going to collide with Earth and destroy all life as we knew it.
More specifically:
To make our FAWM project a more cohesive expression, we created a fictional narrative about a special spaceship/train that could fly up into the upper atmosphere above the Earth and orbit the planet at close to the speed of light for 1 year; at the end of that time the "future train" would land back on the the ground and (because of Relativity) a longer period of time would have passed on the Earth than on the train. For the sake of our fiction, we took the artistic liberty to say that it was 23 years later on the ground, but that the train passengers were only 1 year older.
The train costs your life savings. So only the most desperate took advantage of its clumsy promise of time travel.
However, while the train was circling, the mysterious planet Nibiru and Earth's orbits came close enough to cause major ecological, geological planet-wide disruption, calamity, upheaval - basically wiping out all that had been on the Earth. Modern civilization is destroyed, most of the population is killed, a new topography & geography is created, etc - so that when the train finally lands the passengers will basically be restarting civilization again from what they knew. They are unprepared . . .
Each song is another chapter, another story, another perspective of this occurrence.
This song: The blues is the right sound for the only stowaway on the future train. This lazy man's story is that he thought the future would be smooth sailing; he would leave his care, troubles & worry behind him and arrive in Utopia of golden ease that he did not earn. He is in for an ashen surprise.
