Merry Christmas! "O Holy Night," a classic traditional carol, is this year's addition to The Nick Durofchalk Christmas Album. I almost didn't get a chance to record a Christmas song this year, but I had two back to back free days, so my friend Ryan and I arranged this version of "O Holy Night." This acoustic arrangement features Ryan McNellis on the violin and piano.

O Holy Night

Merry Christmas (a few days late). I'm incredibly happy to present this year's carol: "Carol of the Birds."

Originally a traditional Irish carol dating back to the 18th century, it was arranged and published by the american composer John Jacob Niles in the mid 20th century. After coming across Niles' arrangement, I decided to adapt the carol into a bluegrass style.

I had the pleasure of working with a number of musicians for this piece. I'd like to thank:
-Chris Weidensaul for playing the guitar solo and the harmonica solo
-Joe Mancinelli for playing the piano, playing the finger picked guitar, and singing the tenor vocal harmonies
-Ryan McNellis for playing violin and singing the bass harmonies
-Jeannine Riley for singing the high vocal harmonies

Carol of the Birds

in early 2008, Monochromatic entered the first stage of production with the composition of the first track, titled The Land.  After some more song writing, Monochromatic, All Has Been Gray, Beyond Illusions, and Conquest entered the mix and were compiled onto one Album.

This one's pretty interesting. Its got a slight Reggae feel to it, but its primairly rock. ...Rock is such a broad genre. Also, this is the first track to not feature an acoustic guitar on Sunshine In Your Eyes! Exciting!

Also on a side note, this song is dedicated to my lovely girlfriend Danielle! Happy 27th monthiversary! &lt;3

2011's addition to my Christmas Album. I'd like to thank Jesse Barki and Matt Hollenberg for their help with backing vocals, and Kenny Ayer for the that saxophone solo. Enjoy my rendition of Irving Berlin's classic carol.

White Christmas

The final Track of "Sunshine In Your Eyes." If you listen, you'll find the style is much different than the other pieces on the Album. Its not quite as up beat. it has a little bit of a sad touch.

"Sunshine In Your Eyes" ends the same way it begins. "Fall" has incorporates some of the melodies and lyrics from the first track of the Album, "Great."

Merry Christmas! "Cold Outside", a medley of  Jule Styne's "Let it Snow" and Frank Loesser's "Baby its Cold Outside," is this years addition to The Nick Durofchalk Christmas Album. I've been singing this song since early October and it feels pretty good to get it finished. A very special thanks to the lovely Miss Amy Reichert for singing the female vocals!
