And as the blossom falls, to the ground. 
I caught as much as I could. 

And as the wind picks up, the trees are stripped. 
The birds had no place to hide. 

And I write and I write and I write, but these letters never arrive. 

And I try and I try and I try, but this rose won’t survive. 

And I see, the crows circling me.

The Sun always rises for you, with wet toes in morning dew. 
The fire had fled by noon and I know why. 

The weather had come too soon. 
No time to ready the crew, we made our way up the dune. 

Where sand devils came. 

And twisted their way through camp, stealing our weapons and lamps, like thieves of the morning. 
They were gone as quick as they came, like night becomes day, and sun becomes rain. 

And I stand, watching her power grow, where armor falls from the sky. 

And she growls, gnashing at our feet, with teeth like daggers in dark. 

Yet our souls, deeper than the moon, swallowed up within her path.
