We’re half way through the year already and it’s been a half filled with some amazing music. We’ve had some really talented artists on guestmix duties for Distant Grooves and we’re continuing the streak with Venezuelan-born, UK-based David Delgado aka Joone. With power packed releases on labels like Secret Fusion, Acrylic On Canvas, Borders Of Light and more, Joone has been drawing inspiration from his early music influences and writing them into his music.

The ‘Remember’ artwork is a photograph taken by Kelsey Williamson, featuring the unique underwater landscapes of the crystal-clear fresh water at Kayangan Lake in Coron, Philippines. Kelsey is an adventurer and photographer passionate about exploring the world’s most remote and stunning regions. Her work captures untamed landscapes and underwater wonders, inspiring a deeper connection to the wild and a curiosity for the unknown.

Kayangan Lake, often mistaken for purely freshwater, is actually a mix of rainwater and ocean seepage - making it one of the cleanest and most unique lakes in Asia. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs rising from deep underwater, it’s a vivid reminder of the connection between land and sea. The Philippine Reef and Rainforest Conservation Foundation (@prrcfi) works to protect this balance through coral reef restoration, reforestation and education.

Nick has been writing and producing dance music since 1990, notably as John Digweed’s production partner in the Bedrock project but he is well known as a DJ/producer in his own right. He is a multi-instrumentalist but was a professional session pianist before he entered the nascent dance scene of the early 90’s.
