PEDRO is the Portuguese DJ and producer formerly known as KKing Kong. Born and raised in the Lisbon suburb of Damaia, the beats played everywhere by the neighbourhood’s largely African-descendent population inevitably impacted his young ears. Tarraxo, kizomba and kuduro were the soundtrack of his youth, and he has been celebrating this influence ever since he first started making beats in his bedroom in 2013.  

Now the bedroom has been replaced by the Enchufada studios, from where the producer regularly puts out tracks like ‘Drenas’ or ‘Damaia’, already consecrated electronic anthems of Lisbon’s new Afro-influenced scene (to which he has greatly contributed on releases like Enchufada’s ‘Damaia 2.0’ or the free ‘Da Linha’ EPs) but also the instrumentals that he creates for Portuguese artists such as Carlão, Fred or Diogo Piçarra, revealing PEDRO’s seemingly endless versatility as a producer.
