This is part 1 of a series of 3 Various Artists Compilations (I, II and III) to close the Invisible catalogue.

Thursday May 30th, Ascension Day, we confirmed that Invisible will stop releasing music. The drum & bass label was launched in 2010 as the experimental and new-talent-championing leg of our original flagship imprint Vision and multiple genre label Division.

All good things must come to an end, though. We will release three Invisible compilations with the name ‘INVISIBLE Definition’ to close the catalogue over the coming months and this is the first one. And while it seems like the end of an era, it’s actually the start of a new one. Nik and Thijs explain in an interview with UKF:

Kung - Ascent [Premiere]

Askel & Elere AKA Juho Kavasto and Sainey Gibba have been busy bees lately, with their ‘Local Support’ EP landing in June serving as the latest reminder of their seriously slick sonic skills. They’ve turned their hands to Circumference’s ‘Pyramid’ as their contributions to the ‘10 Years of Soulvent: The Remixes LP’ and it was certainly worth the wait! The original is taken from Circumference’s stand-out debut EP ‘Breathe’ released back in 2021, with the title track sitting at close to 2 million streams. 

‘Pyramid (Askel & Elere Remix)’ kicks off with some monumental atmospheres that will make you think you're staring up from the base of Tutankhamun's house. The drop ushers in extra levels of bassweight, including all manner of distorted growls, swells and towering tones. Askel & Elere’s trademark “sci-fi liquid” sound palette is unmistakably clean & crisp, and perfectly complements the epic, sonic sharpness of the original. With the drums perfectly parting the sea of swelling sub bass, Rick O Connell and Imhotep would be proud of this isometric powerhouse of a remix.

Sustance's formidable catalogue receives its second remix in as many weeks, this time with a slick rework from one of Austria’s finest. Featuring Manchester-based Strategy's infamous vocal expertise, 'Undercurrent' gets the En:vy treatment. 

Another standout track that featured on Sustance's 2023 debut album 'Perceived Connections', En:vy injects infectious new life into Sustance & Strategy’s original, stripping it back and rebuilding it with his signature surgical precision.

With one foot set in the future and another amongst neurofunk DNB's architects, Nick's trademark sound is not easily classified. Morphing, animalistic basslines project through sonic space in perfectly organized chaos, with structure provided by painfully sharp drums.
