The rule was a maximum of two takes per song. And with that we set out to record these songs. 

This one is a song of hope for change. A song about building you future life on the pieces of the past. A song about dreaming as big as you can in every aspect of life, big or small.

The second song from the live-session i November. This time it's about fighting for your sanity and sense of worth in a cruel place. And then getting out the other end.

Freedom, loss and the end

The song that started this project. While testing his new equipment, my dear friend Michael wanted me to play and sing a little to test some stuff. I started with this cover version I made of Springsteens classic. 

I always think that if you're going to make a cover, make something of it. Not to say that you have to make it ebtter in any way, sometimes that will be impossible But just try to make it your own, add something, find a new way into the song. If you don't, it's just karaoke. So here's my attempt to make this song my own. 

Born to run

This is the one song that was not recorded live. It was originally recorded for my EP, but as it came together I chose to leave it out. I do like the song, but it was an experiment. I wanted to tell a story ´, and I think I managed alright. But the song became too long for a pop song. By the time that was clear I couldn't start cutting it. That would ruin the story and there was no time to re-write the whole thing, so I left it out. 

Still here it is. Not perfect, but I think it contains some of the best ideas I've had for a song. One day, maybe, I'll make a different version. Or i'll just keep it this way because it feels nice to leave this experiment untouched. Everything doesn't have to be re-made into something new and better.

Making it easier

The start will be a series of 5 songs. Four of them was recorded live at a friends house with only me and my guitar. It was simply because I had some new material that I wanted recorded but also didn't have the time or the possibility to make a full production. So we did the opposite. We set a maximum of two takes per song (unless I screwed up completley) and then picked the best version. 

Because of this there are a lot of things that could have been made better, but the point was not to make the perfect version of it, just to get it recorded. Hopefully you will enjoy it all the same.

The fifth song is a song that was recorded for my album but never really worked. It was an experiment from my side to tell a story through a song, but it grew much too long for a pop song and it didn't really work so I left it out. Here though, it will be released. 

It has been a great learning experience to me. I realize for instance that I grow better a little bit into every song. Stuff like that. But no excuses, just listen, and take it for what it is. Som new songs you might enjoy. Simple as that.
