Mellowish, slighlty progressive track put together using only Magix vst instruments.  Thanks for listening, if you do.

One Too Many Sprouts - Nick Harris 2016

Not so much a remix as a tribute.  All midi work carried out in the piano roll of Music Maker Premium 2017.  As well as some of Magix' own arsenal, Upright Bass, Lead and Cinematic Synths, there are layers of Air 'Xpand!2', LuSH101, Iris 2 and s3k.  Drums comprise Air 'Strike' beefed up with Dark VX Kick.

Plugin filters used include Shaperbox, Fog Convolver and Sound Panagement. 

124 bpm as was suggested, and just under the four minute mark.  

Apologies for the bad pun title in the image.  Couldn't resist.  Had a lot of fun quickly cobbling this together, which was the main idea.  Not exactly cutting edge, but then neither am I.

There was a friendly challenge, within a small group on Metapop, to produce some sort of sea shanty. This is what came creaking out of the end of my pipeline, using vst instruments in Samplitude Home Studio 2021 with Emvoice Lucy (voice synthesizer). Yes it is way too long. Needs serious editing, in so many ways. Much fun was had in the making though.
LYRICS
Peg-Leg Pete and his motley crew,
Sailed the sea like pirates do.
Raiding ships to steal their treasure,
Then back to port for rum and pleasure.
Peg-Leg Pete, while treasure seeking,
On the Bijanker, cold and leaking,
Yearns for life without a cutlass,
Other pirates call that gutless.
CHORUS -
Peg-Leg Pete, the reluctant pirate,
Much prefers to sing and gyrate.
Wants to be a wedding singer,
A happiness, not terror bringer.
Peg-Leg Pete secured a map,
That promised gold galore, on tap.
No jagged rocks, nor towering wave,
Would keep them from the wealth they crave.
CHORUS -
They sailed for months through awful weather,
Always going hell for leather.
Until they found themselves becalmed, 
And day by day grew more alarmed.
That this might mark their slow decline,
Endless boredom, dulled by wine.
That was when a sound to tease,
Was carried to them on the breeze.

Such a voice they'd never heard,
Their hearts and minds were both secured,
They simply had to find its source.
A mermaid's deadly song, of course.
Pete raised up his voice forlorn,
A beautiful duet was born.
It spoke of loss and dreams unrealised.
The mermaid pictured Pete idealised.

The mermaid's song was like a magic flute,
But she had a face like a broken boot.
Pete himself you could not call handsome,
But their voices held each other ransome.
The crew, they perished there and then,
But tales are told now and again,
Of how a mermaid met her match,
Of how she became Peg-Leg Pete's catch.

Where Sense Is - Nickillus 2021

Just got hold of a second voice for Emvoice the voice synthesizer.  Meet Jay, their first male vocalist.  Lucy is on backing duties for this one.  Not exactly a polished track, and a duffer of a cover.  Hopefully I'll get time to address both of those things at a later date.

A full time, freelance children's book illustrator, introduced to Magix music making software in January 2014.  Haven't been near music production since school about a hundred years ago.  Can't play a note, and sing like a drain unblocking - Hence any music I may eventually have the nerve to upload is all created using midi/vst instruments playing compositions created in the piano roll editor.   The Magix forum dedicated to music production is the only place to suffer my creations so far.  Didn't realise it could be so much fun though.  Woohoo.
