A delicate (quiet!) recording in a full (noisy) St Albans Church of the St Albans School Choir. Choir X, distant organ XY (no organ but sounded nice in the mix with mid-distant vocals) and a 416 down in the cheap seats for more depth.

Sleep - St Albans School Choir

A crescendo played on a large drum by Evelyn Glennie, recorded with JrF C Series contact mics in stereo. I really like the way this builds from distant thunder to a violent wall of noise and then drops off to drifting resonants within the drum.

Bird song and walking in snow in my garden, near the town centre of Colchester, 22nd Jan 2013. Recorded binaurally using 2 COS-11 lavs in to Micron radios and in to a SD552 mixer. Birds were recorded with lavs attached to headphone earpieces, walking in snow with lavs attached to walking boot laces then mixed in Reaper.

Had an hour to kill on a shoot so thought I'd try a cheats binaural. This is two lavs at either end of my Rycote Zep under the fluffy cover but over the actual basket to create the density gap between the mics. The zep was then propped against a wall on the Southbank facing Elizabeth Tower with Westminster Bridge to the right, a pathway behind and a fountain far behind to the left. The clock strikes 11am.

A short extract of two M/S stereo recordings made at Wendover Woods over two days. Day one was bright and sunny, day two brought lots of rain.

Actuality of a SFX explosion on an advert I worked on. Just a mono file as they weren't bothered about decoding MS files for the edit and I didn't have my MS setup nearby. A nice big bang and then some falling debris, which happened to get in to my mixer too. whoops!
