Without Wires (feat. Clarabell)

Multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter Nicklas Hughes began his career as a drummer, supporting indie rock bands in Philadelphia and touring the East Coast. After writing his own songs behind the scenes for more than ten years, in 2014 he decided to take the opportunity to step out on his own. 

That year, Nicklas honed his recording and producing skills on the independently released full-length, 'Miniature Galaxy'. The debut home recordings combined the '80s pop influences of his youth with the songwriting and production style of contemporaries like Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, Washed Out, and Bear in Heaven. 

After forming a backing band and creating a live show, in September 2016 Nicklas released his second self-produced solo record, 'Games'. Recorded at Sine Studios (Buried Beds, Sun Cinema) and released on New Jersey's Black Rd Records, 'Games' continues where 'Miniature Galaxy' left off, fusing the '80s pop of Peter Gabriel and Fleetwood Mac with the inventive production and dark moods of 2010s indie rock, electronica and dance. 

Nominated for The Deli Philly's "Artist of the Month" in October 2016, Hughes "...enlists an emotion-exposing, singer-songwriter accessibility. However, those somber tales are hardened by the influx of multidimensional synth/pop-rock-toned instrumentation.
