some psycho experimentation from a couple years back.  Angie had given me new recording toys and i guess i was just trying to do anything with layered vocals.

this was all created from the first takes (no do-overs), so as always forgive the rough edges.  

but it definitely ignites my memory of the winter night i recorded this on my living room floor, and of the Donny & Marie version i listened to while i was in diapers and my mom was still a teenager herself. and somehow, whatever version i hear, or whenever i sing it, a lilac nostalgia sings to me from an era that none of us can remember, as we've never known. when recorded sound was a technological revolution and the internet couldn't even be fathomed in science fiction.
