Jade Lathan (21), is truly an icon in the making. The artist has appeared on season 14 of American Idol, writes her own music, and attends college. She first discovered her musical talent as a child in church, and since then has developed an electrifying sound. Already Jade has collaborated with homegrown Detroit artists such as Nick Speed, The Black Opera, and Erno Inferno to name a few. Miss Jade is also a part of the collectives “The Foundation: Women in Hip Hop” and experimental band “Lord Scrummage”, which displays her versatility throughout the Detroit music scene. Jade brings a humble, yet fearless presence to the stage before revealing her powerful, sweet and sultry sound that always leaves the audience pleading for an encore. Lathan’s main goal with her ambitious music is to be a guiding light to peace and balance all around the world.    Jade’s latest release is a collaboration with super producer Nick Speed entitled “One Mic Stand”. Jade says the release was very organic, as her and Nick had recorded all 6 tracks in one night.
