To laugh at life, and learn to sing a love song. A melody that's soon to be forgotten.

Life. They say is a stage of shadows. A play written by unseen hands. We walk between trembling lights illusion cast on walls of mist Who holds the string, if anyone does? Are we the masters? Or mere puppets caught in the twisted branches of chance, dancing to a tune we cannot hear? We lose the whys in the echo of questions The rules are clear, they say But who writes them? A god laughing in the dark. Or we ourselves, blinded by the fear of being nothing Each mistake is a knot we weave Each triumph, is a mask we wear And deep down, we laugh because we know we’ll never escape this maze After all, what is life but a test of courage where the prize is realizing the meaning was always in the silence? The Amazing Digital Circus - Orchestral Ending Theme

It's been a joy to collaborate with Seagull on a number of different projects over the last several years, but this song proved to be a more unique challenge for me musically; to try to create a guitar part for a Middle Eastern style of music.  I'll let you be the judge if we succeeded:)  Clara's vocals really define the song as Seagull's electric guitar and synths set the stage with bird song in the background.  He did an exquisite job of nestling the Godin nylon-string into the mix.
Minus the electric guitars of course, I do wonder if this type of music might have been heard in and around Palestine at the time of Christ's birth.  Was it echoing in the Magi's ears as they sojourned across the sands to worship and give gifts to the newborn King?  It is music that is pleading, emotional, calling out for peace to a world gone mad in its quest for power and wealth.  Regardless of one's faith or religion, Christmas can be a time and season of resetting one's values and outlook on life, perhaps a true "Genesis" of beginning again.
