This is one of the best recordings as of yet of our new project called CopyRide. It is our impression of a song by Frank Foster called Simone. This was taped at our 3rd rehearsal. The sound quality isn't spectacular, but it gives a good impression of our direction. Guitar by Wil Hartendorf, Drums by Cesar Derks, Keys by Hugo Apperloo & I'm playing the Bass. CopyRide - Simone - Februari 2014 - 3rd Rehearsal Session

This song is one of my creations. The main theme is an old-school rocky riff, which we've combined with a coat of metalness. And obviously the end of the song is a big ode to Gojira, Bless them. Shmi and I have begun with a collaboration in making electronic music with instrumental additions. This track was a concept made by Shmi, and I added some bass-guitar & guitar tracks to it. This is out first experiment, hope you all like it! :)

Soft Pyramid - Barbarian Invasion (Jam)

This track is the result of a one-night jamming/recording session at Zoqxkin's place, and it became quite a catchy concept if I might say so. Don't know if this will ever be made into a finished song, but it stands on own in it's current form. Zoqxkin Kiptoqueskin Peplippipluppin and me on Guitars, and Mr. Computer for the drums.

Hello world!

I am Nicky van Rijn from the Netherlands. I have been a guitar player for about 15 years, and recently started playing bass. I like a lot of different kinds of music, though Progressive/Experimental music, which is basically a combination of many genres, is my favorite niche. I was also a jam-session leader at J.C. Staddijk in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Including my current projects, I've worked with 15+ projects until now, including Pop, Metal, Hard-Rock, Blues-Rock, Blues, Jazz, Funk, and all kinds of Progressive music. Personally, I think my greatest talent is in writing/composing music, and I have more than 4 hours of musical compositions waiting on my shelf to be performed by the right band; at the right time. Most of them in unusual time signatures, and I really like to make dissonant harmonies.

I use a very "free" and spiritual approach to music, and have many different approaches when it comes to writing songs. I can decipher note sheets, but not play them from paper, I have only recently started studying chord names, but for me, I write what comes to mind, and what sounds good to me, so I never felt I needed that knowledge until recently.
