Strongly shaped by the raw and forward-leaning sound of 90’s Techno, Milan based artist Alarico Zucchi started his journey into electronic music in 2015 making his way through clubs as a DJ while learning the art of music production. 

The inauguration of ‘Alarico’ occurred in 2019 after previously exploring several sub-genres of Techno. The alias was formed as a statement to showcase a style that was personal to him. Personal in a way that he became captivated within the patterns and structures of his own sound. So-much-so that his multiple our long podcasts solely consisting of his own material made him stand out from a whole host of young and promising producers and DJs. 

Known for fast paced rhythms and kinky grooves he has released music consistently since his debut in 2020 on Joton’s imprint “Newrhytmic Records”. Shortly after he launched his own vinyl imprint “Katana Records”, which showcases the more mental and introverted side of his idea of Techno. He certainly cemented his rank in today’s Techno landscape through releases on Matrixxman’s highly acclaimed “The Grid”, Token Records and sees a bright future with a forthcoming release on SHDW & Obscure Shape’s newest endeavour “Mutual Rytm”. 

Alarico continues to position himself as a unique music lover, exploring the depths and possibilities of sound. He stands for permanently pushing boundaries and stirring this attitude with his background of Hip Hop and Japanese culture.

PREMIERE: Juan Sanchez - Fonkyzeit (Fukumachi Remix) [ATDEP007]

Se trata de una progresión musical hacia el Schranz, desde una base solida de ritmos hipnóticos y con ayuda de Hardhouse contundente. Fue grabada el 23 de Octubre y plasma a través de una AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ como considero que me gustaría que fuera la progresión de una fiesta.

MOVEMENTS

Otro set improvisado. Siempre voy a tratar de hacerlos así en este podcast: sin preparación, igual que lo haría en un club. No solo para mostrar mi nivel real, sino también para ver mi evolución con los años, tanto en experiencia como en gusto musical.

El frío ha entrado de lleno en Berlín y, sorprendentemente, el cuerpo me pide sonidos más sexys que serios. Pensaba que sería al revés, pero tiene sentido: quiero combatir el frío del club con sonidos calientes!!

Sigo produciendo cada día y aunque dije que sacaría algo antes de acabar el año... he decidido no hacerlo. Las redes sociales incitan a rushear y hacer todo lo más deprisa posible... pero no lo voy a hacer con la música.
El día que de verdad sienta que lo que estoy produciendo tiene un buen nivel, lo sacaré. Mientras seguiré disfrutando del proceso aunque sienta que el mundo va 5 veces más rápido.

Another improvised set. I’m always going to do them like this on the podcast: no preparation, just the way I’d play in a club. Not only to show my real level, but also to see how I evolve over the years — both in experience and in musical taste.

The cold has fully arrived in Berlin and, surprisingly, my body is asking for sexier sounds rather than serious ones. I thought it would be the opposite, but it makes sense: I want to fight the cold in the club with warm sounds!

I’m still producing every day, and even though I said I’d release something before the end of the year… I’ve decided not to. Social media pushes you to rush and do everything as fast as possible, but I’m not going to do that with my music.
The day I truly feel that what I’m making is at a good level, I’ll release it. Until then, I’ll keep enjoying the process — even if it feels like the world is moving five times faster.

As FOLD was building its reputation as a new 24 hour London club, behind the scenes a community was growing. A core crowd was emerging, being brought together weekend after weekend, building and solidifying close bonds on the dark sweaty dance floor. Lasha Jorjoliani aka Voicedrone and James Newmarch the venue’s co-creator and technical wiz respectively became the driving force for UNFOLD; a haven made for this fiercely loyal and diverse crowd.
 
UNFOLD places the DJ booth in the middle of the dancefloor, encouraging eye contact and immersion. Fuelled by fiery, energetic techno this format champions a connection and togetherness that at times feels closer to a ritualistic gathering than a rave. As daylight fades the frenzied crowd becomes one, hungry for the infamous b2b sets Voicedrone and James close with. Their high-energy styles compliment each other and produce a uniquely signature sound that is impossible not to move to. 

Surrounded by their community this lethal duo create a powerful and cathartic closing that is truly the spirit of UNFOLD.
