It’s Bedrock debut time for Liverpool’s Steve Parry, one of the UK music scene’s most industrious, passionate and engaging characters. With 25+ years of DJ experience behind the decks, a monthly show on Frisky Radio, running Selador Recordings (alongside Dave Seaman) and his ever-growing SMP3 Music operation, it's excellent news that Steve has found time to get into the studio and create “Flippant” for John Digweed’s globally renowned, forward-thinking Bedrock label.

Steve’s first solo release (for far too long) is a full-on acidic banger that builds from a quirky bouncing percussive backbone, into primetime 303-territory. With its hugely energetic, classic, timeless vibe, “Flippant” is mind-meltingly monstrous and a perfect addition to the Bedrock musical story.

There are DJs that are instantly recognisable because of their standing in the scene, their visibility on social media or the wacky things they do, and then there are equally talented, immensely passionate people who prefer to work off the radar, people like Steve Parry. 

Having amassed a wealth of musical knowledge and honed some serious DJ skills since the age of 15, by working as manager of the world famous 3 Beat Records; holding down a 3 year residency at Cream in Liverpool and subsequently DJing around the globe; hosting his “Red Zone” radio show for 10 years, featuring the hottest new music and regular world class DJ guests; and promoting a series of legendary underground club nights over the years, including his latest project, “Luna”, it is no wonder that Steve Parry has also developed such superb studio skills, as demonstrated here.

French DJ / Producer Antoine Garcin, otherwise known as Acumen, teams up with Ukrainian electronic duo, Monastetiq. Both Acumen & Monastetiq have had major global recognition and various releases, but they now deliver 'Indie' on Sasha's renowned Last Night On Earth record label.

'Indie' is a track which has a deep, dark, groove with an electronic guitar styled bassline bought to life with atmospheric sounds and textures. The Original is complimented by two remixes from underground stalwart Fairmont, as well as one from Simon Doty.

For the better half of a year since its creation, Desert Hearts Black has served as an American outpost for envelope-pushing melodic house and techno. The imprint continues this tradition with a brand new compilation series, ‘Gateways.’ Standing at 15 tracks, the first-ever Desert Hearts Black multi-artist venture features contributions from GNTN, Enamour, DJ AroZe, and many more.

Founders Marbs and Evan Casey have invited some friends from around the globe to participate in the launch of ‘Gateways.’ Stil Vor Talent alums GNTN make their label debut with Ornaments, while BOHO enters with a Rachel Raw-assisted “Vacant”—both serving as the record’s German representation. Tel Aviv talent DJ AroZe, who’s appeared on top imprints like Steyoyoke and Plattenbank, contributes two tracks in the forms of “My Shadow” and “Tern Haven.” Pongo, NEUMA, and Emiliano Demarco round out the compilation’s global contingent. 

‘Gateways Vol 1.’ focuses heavily on bringing USA underground mavericks to light. Enamour, an Anjunadeep signee championed by Lane 8, lands on ‘Gateways’ with a futuristic ‘Life In The Machine.’ San Diego hometown heroes Memo Rex and Susio provide a churning “Fantastical,” while Mala Strana, Michael Hooker, Class-A Deviants, and Benthos & Mojulo show off innovation from Chicago to Reno. 

Since its launch, Desert Hearts Black has already proven itself as a strong underground force. The label’s debut EP, ‘Torus,’ became Beatport’s top Melodic House & Techno release upon release, and it has since gone on to bring titans like Tim Engelhardt, Thugfucker, Dance Spirit, and Lunar Plane into its ranks.

Nico Parisi began his career in 1996 at iconic Belgian club Atmoz. already at the age of 14 he was spinning records. from all types of music to dance, anything he could spin to make people dance came into play. Soon he knew his love and passion for electronic music and that it would change his life. In 1997 it really started for Nico, not only did he play in the best club in Belgium but he started producing his own tracks with his first release on Atmoz Records and signed a contract with Antler Subway (EMI) Music . And not only under his own name but also under the project Aqualords together with DJ Regi and scored hits such as Basstrain, Witches, The Beginning, Children off The Demon , No Bulshit , Evolution . Nico had also done several famous remixes for top artists. His most famous was 'Extreme Trax 'Don't Hold Back' 'and Nunca ' House Of Doom' . Nico remix of Nunca was also released on Tiesto's label 'Black Hole Recordings in 1999 . 'Now his career had really taken off and he was playing in many top Belgian clubs . Nico also got noticed abroad and was booked in the early 90s at Club Pacha Ibiza , Bora Bora, and even in South Africa. These were times to remember for Nico . Over the years in 2006 the digitalization of the music market began and also for the clubs it was the end and beginning of the Festivals. In 2006 Nico started his own Label Danza Records . His first release on 12 inch was immediately a hit , Nico Parisi & Erik Hub 'Metro', was in a short time at Nr1 in the chart of the famous Armin Van Buuren. In 2011 Nico was offered a contract with Bonzai Progressive. This was the beginning of a new adventure. Here he could live out his passion for progressive music with his first release together with Airwave ' Romeo and Juliet. Several releases were released with one of the most famous being 'Caress' this release was picked up by Paul Oakenfold and featured on his compilation Dj Box 2014 . The DJ life was back in full swing and he was asked several times at Tomorrowland and Pukkelpop which for Nico was the highlight of his career so far . Nico continued to produce and also together with top producer Gai Barone where together they released their famous track 'Perla'. In 2017 there was a foreign tour in South America, Spain and Italy. In 2021 after a long period of pandemic, a lot of time was spent in the studio and releases followed each other including his new album Guardian Angel which was supported by D-Nox and Paul Van Dyk. In 2023 the track Metro was re-covered by Kevin De Vries and MauP and was released on the label of Afterlife. A video clip was made for this video which you can find on You Tube . The track immediately became a big hit world wide . Nico was also asked to perform at Tomorrowland winter and Tomorrowland summer 2024 .
