My name is Antaares, im a musician from Mexico City.
The music i make speaks about balance and symmetry, trying to find the perfect mix of sounds to have a positive effect on you, the listener.

I almost never dedicated myself to playing music, rather I downloaded my first sequencer when I was 10 years old. I began to experiment my whole life, I am currently 18 years old and I think I have just started my career as a producer and artist.

My music is instrumental as of now, but i wold love to sing and put a verbal message into the songs. They already transmit a message about what I think and feel every day. It is not a message as such but rather it is a form of cognitive communication that my words will never be able to say. As a singer I would probably find a way to define with words what I do today with Synthesizers.

We welcome Microtrauma with their debut on Traum. Microtrauma is a new cosmic force on the Traum planet. Microtrauma have been making music since 1995 but it was not until 2007 that they had their break through and real success with their EPs. Their biggest hit so far was "Aktin" which was played by people like John Digweed, DJ Sasha, James Zabiela and eventually ended up in a BBC Essential mix by James Zabiela. Microtrauma have played live together with Bodzin and Huntemann in their hometown and had great feedbacks coming from them and other associated classy DJs. They have released a remix on Traum for Max Cooper's "Stochastisch Serie" which marks their good relationship with Max. For their "Colourblind EP" on Traum they have attempted an even more sophisticated sound construction succeeding in three brand new tracks. The a-side "Saturation" makes a spiritual link to electronic avantgarde of the 70ies, connecting to the greater and dynamic moments of musicians like Klaus Schulze, still feeding the techno corpus with enough heavy bassline and kick to tweak dance floors. "Saturation" has sonic parts that give way to gooseflesh and a sun soaked intensity that makes it a "daylight" track.

"Diffusion" is soulful as well, maybe more linear and even more ghostly and haunting, spiced up with electronic sounding basslines, filtered voices from the distance, heavy delays and a pounding techno beat. "Contrast" as the title itself suggests, is very different to the other two tracks. The beat relies on a “break beat” and the musical theme may as well be the most adventurous of all tracks. Steering towards different levels, all parts are connected to each other in a magic way… the spirit is kind of gloomy and bright with nice feedbacks and a seductive mildness and musicality that makes it so unique and cool.

The extra mixes come by Max Cooper, Ryan Davis and Richie G. Max Cooper has twisted "Contrast" towards an 4 to the floor beat but has enhanced it with a lightness and soothing quality that provides "Contrast" with an ethereal and airy quality not to be matched by anything in the files of melodic techno we know of.

Ryan Davis has chosen to remix "Saturation" making it an epic track with stronger changes into clubiness… we can feel a bit of Paul Kalkbrenner substance here. The third bonus track comes from 17 year Canadian producer Richie G who has already released music for John Digweed's label Bedrock. Richie has stripped the original of "Saturation" to the bare essentials making it even more accessible for DJs.

A new artist collective will be gracing the nightlife scene this April, as five of melodic dance music’s leading talents combine their efforts under a single, unified banner. Emanuel Satie, Maga, Sean Doron, Tim Engelhardt and Yulia Niko make up Scenarios, the collective, record label and event series. The label’s inaugural release takes the form of the two-track Here To Stay EP. The first instalment sees three of the five members collaborate on Here To Stay, a meandering, emotionally-charged offering packed full of poignant chords and textured drum patterns throughout. It feels introspective and danceable in one, paving the way for a similarly moving number in the form of You & I, Paradise. This time DUDDHA’s mesmeric vocals create an achingly beautiful soundscape, one that winds with a gentle lucidity through resonant synths and a driving lead bassline. Friday Island completes its slate of releases for the year with a debut from Spanish-based UK artist Stefan Cordery, who returns with his first EP in a decade featuring two deep and melodic prog tracks, including top tier remixes from Hobin Rude and Nomad in the Dark.

Before taking a step back from production, Stefan previously ran record label Kinetic Groove and had releases and remixes on the likes of Kindisch and Menomale.

First up on the EP is ‘Indalo’, a Digweed-inspired melodic prog roller with a dark hypnotic arp and deep sustained bass that builds into the break and unleashes a spellbinding tribal chant that keeps the groove moving along.

On the flip is ‘Reetah’, another deep and melodic late night prog roller with a Reese-style bass, dreamy synths and rhythmic vocal chop that carries the track through to its climax. Rising Serbian prog star Hobin Rude delivers his debut remix for Friday Island, a dancefloor-
destroying take on ‘Indalo’ that builds his trademark wide-screen pads and infectious bass groove around the original’s hypnotic arp and vocal.

Finally, Friday Island regular Nomad in the Dark is back with another massive remix that reworks ‘Reetah’ by combining squelchy filtered bass, rhythmic stabs and huge vocal pads that build into an epic synth lead that dials the track up to 11.

Friday Island is a new progressive house label inspired by the magic of the early 2000s but with an eye firmly on pushing the future of the sound. Friday Island’s mission is to make music for dark sweaty rooms and those cosmic 3am dancefloor moments when you forget
where you are.

Next up on John Digweed’s forward-thinking Bedrock label is an exceptional single-track release from a key member of the Hamburg-based Diynamic collective – Holger Behn aka H.O.S.H.

‘Lunchtime’ with its infectious, restrained, inexorable upward trajectory is a masterpiece that bides its time.  Nothing is rushed, the pace is perfect, the arrangement sublime.  The complex interplay of percussive parts becomes an integral melodic element, underpinned with the rising swell of deep bass pads, steadily building towards a euphoric breakdown before re-launching into a heavenly final movement of blissful magnificence. 

It is no wonder that ‘Lunchtime’ is such a master-class of musical brilliance, because H.O.S.H. is a DJ who values the art of mixing records and sequencing journeys - preferably long ones - over anything else.  Anyone who has been witness to his DJ sets played during his gigs on every continent over the last few years would be unlikely to disagree.  His lengthy sessions behind the decks have afforded him an exceptional, invaluable insight into exactly what works best on the world’s finest dancefloors.
