Jams remixed with slamming house beats and filter sweeps, decidedly underground house music choons injected with heavy disco dub and jazz funk house. 
The album is rich in groove, soul and funk - modern, imaginative, stylistically fresh—but also heavily indebted to the past, a DISCO underground culture disappearing into a polymorphously perverse autonomous zone where none of it mattered, and where divisions of class, race, gender and sexuality were allowed to dissolve in a cavalcade of esoteric rituals that suspended time for as long as the night allowed.

That Underground Disco that revolted in style by creating a series of occult enclaves where the young and the damned, the bad and the beautiful, the perverse and the perverted could congregate in mutually assured communion, away from workaday existence and the (hetero)normative scheme of things with all its persecutions and privations. A revolt against deleterious systems – social, cultural and political – which took the form of a retreat underground and the creation of new ways of being based on new sets of shared values.

Widdox is first to release a mix on the newly formed series 'Nova Funk' 

Widdox is DJ based in Bristol, UK. From moving to the West country city, he discovered a new wave of disco edits, deep house and mixing in flavours of Jazz and Latin influenced grooves. 

He has been Djing at various bars for the last couple of years and runs a successful night called ‘Mommas Groove’ A collective of 4 established DJ's in their own right, bringing a ‘Glitterbox’ inspired uplifting party atmosphere designed to unite all ages, persuasions and walks of life on the dancefloor. This includes their legendary Day & Night Parties at 51's Stokes Croft. 

Always on the look for rare new sounds, he tries to create mixes and DJ sets that take the listener on a journey, incorporating laid back vibes to disco house stompers!

SoulSplendid is a dutch entrepreneur with a passion for deep and soulful music ranging from 50s Hardbop Jazz music to 80s Electro Funk and 90s Hip Hop to Deep House.
