The 12" closes with ZOMBIES IN MIAMI's take on CYCLE, one of IN TECHNICOLOR's most epic renditions: the illustrious duo takes its straight-faced elation and turns it on its head with a blend of sun-bleached guitar licks, heavy-duty beats and a well-dosed serving of peyote-laced synths. The somewhat romantic sensibilities found in the original get a seriously saturnine overhaul, therefore developing a menacing quality that never fails to thrill the unsuspecting crowd. It's a perfect conclusion to an enticingly polymorph collection of reworks that may take to the floor from different angles, but always find their respective ways to the epicenter of the action.

Steve Cook - Notice Me EP

After a killer remix for FLXXX's 'Zombie Land' on WS013, Steve Cook is back on Wonder Stories with his own EP. The lead track 'Notice Me' is a drugged-out mid-tempo burner with tribal drums and cut up diva vocals. Accompanying ‘Notice Me’ is a pair of remixes, one from Toronto-based producer Pop District, and another from Wonder Stories label head Aimes. Rounding out the EP is another Steve Cook original ‘Drifted’ which is eager to offer up the dark and brooding side of Steve’s productions.

On Latino Body Music Vol II Sano continues to explore his musical heritage connecting the dots between tradition and news. For this record he picks up the “Champeta” style that had its origin in the streets of Colombia. The mix of repetitive rhythm patterns and chants performed by local legends like Hernando Hernandez is an integral part of the huge soundsytem culture that takes place in the streets of Cartagena. It is so good to see the Cómeme's resident back on the road with this excellent release!
