There is a lot of silence, within the music played by this duo. Neither by chance, nor because of a lack of ideas. One could say it’s a form of respect for the music, or a mirror of the players’ personalities.
Always torn between the love for free improvisation and the one for written music, they are seeking a mutual balance between the two, often starting from one to later land on the other, the focus of their approach being always the sound and timber of each instrument.
Their compositions are often simple, refined, melodic, sometimes complex, elaborate.

Luckily I came across Richard Scott's and Emile Zener's videos. Thanks to them I could rethink once again my approach and keep looking. Finding is not the goal anymore. This is mainly modular eurorack and some short delay.

went for a hard walk in the mud of Brussels Arboretum, to sit quietly among the trees and record something that turned out to be as usual, way too long. 
it's basically two rings into beads, delays and loopers, plus Valhalla FX in post.

LLIAN emerged from the encounter of musicians Nicola Lancerotti and Florian Guibert. From the first day, the musical dialogue that naturally took place between the two protagonists sparked the need for more. 

LLIAN is a project revolving around sound, how it is generated, how it is modified, how it is directed, where it comes from, how it affects people’s perception. Mixing acoustic instruments with electronic sounds, field recordings or Chinese epic tales, the first thing that our first experimentations evoked were nocturnal creepy-crawlies and sea salps. A music that can be mysterious and soothing, somewhat related to those fuzzy hours between night and day.

An exploration of the BCF2000

Often, when performing electronic music, we experience a completely different feeling than acoustic or traditional instrument musicians. The electronic medium is often deprived of a sense of being a “true instrument”. We may add hands-on control via an interface that could simulate and replace that sense of touch, but the connection with the actual sound generation is still a little thin.
For this piece, I chose to use a controller that could both be my interface with the computer and the acoustic source for those sounds and noises I wanted to process digitally, in an attempt to reunite the two actions into the one device.
