Born in Argentina, Emi Galvan’s story is a journey through the vibrant landscape of electronic music. Influenced by legendary bands like the Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, and Groove Armada, he has evolved from his early days as a guitar player and singer in rock bands to become a celebrated DJ and producer in the electronic music scene.

His acclaimed works, released on labels such as Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, and Balance, along with his renowned remix of Massive Attack’s ‘Girl I Love You’, have earned him global recognition.

Recent releases like ‘Samsara’ and ‘Stay High’ continue to showcase his evolving artistic flair, confirming his reputation as a top talent and with sustained DJ support from the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, and Above & Beyond, just to name a few.

With each performance, from his homeland to international venues, Emi Galvan spreads a unique energy, solidifying his status as a dynamic and influential figure in electronic music.

Chilean-born DJ/Producer SIMPLY CITY began his music career embedded in clubs and raves in his native city of Santiago under the alias Cesar “Bass” Romero. After developing a reputation as one of the most in-demand DJ’s in his home country, he left Chile to begin touring across Latin America, Asia, Europe, and North America in the pursuit of launching his international DJ career spending many years travelling and touring the world.

It was Montreal, however, where he decided to root himself after much time abroad. Here, he gained a coveted spot as a resident at Montreal's world famous Stereo Afterhours, where he’s been engaging crowds and developing his sound for over 10 years.
Stereo’s globally recognized sound system, acoustic space, and dedicated club-goers gave Cesar the opportunity not only to apply his breadth of experience as a career DJ, but also to explore a variety of new musical territories. At Stereo, Cesar never fails to flex his mixing skills to an audience of “stereo-heads”; always taking them on truly sonic and atmospheric journeys through his music. Whether opening up the room for some of the biggest names in the industry or taking over the space for an “all night long” set, his mastery of tight mixing and careful track selection have garnered him respect both locally and internationally. Outside of DJing, Cesar has released several tracks on some of the most well-renowned progressive house labels; ultimately putting himself on the map as one Montreal’s most recognized progressive house producers.

SIMPLY CITY continues to play his music beyond Canada’s borders, and consistently delivers his infectious Stereo flare to audiences across the world.

Musician, producer & DJ.

At an early age, he discovered his love for music, exploring different styles and learning to play instruments. 

Then, influenced by bands like Depeche Mode, Röyksopp, Daft Punk, and Virus, artists like Gustavo Cerati, and DJs like Hernán Cattaneo, Sasha and John Digweed, he decided to dive into electronic music.

A few years later, his debut single 'Wolf Code' was presented by "El Maesto" Cattaneo on his radio show RESIDENT. This great start receiving the support of a master encouraged him to keep working. So he did.

In 2022, he released his first EP. This time, "The Path" was played live by Cattaneo on his most important show of the year -in his own words- in FORJA, Córdoba, in front of 10.000 souls.
The track was also ranked on the Top Organic House Releases in Beatport and featured on John Digweed's radio show TRANSITIONS.

Other top artists who have also supported his work are Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn, and Lee Burridge, to name a few.

Eclectic, not to be labeled within a unique genre, his style is rich in textures and atmospheres, with a palette of different nuances, combining subtleness and intensity.
