I Spike Lees genombrottsfilm ”Do The Right Thing”, om en varm sommardag i ett kvarter i Brooklyn som slutar i kravaller. En pizzeria i kvarteret är jordbävningens epicentrum, och konflikten börjar med att en av stammisarna frågar ”how come you got no brothers on the wall?” Öppningsspåret ”Malcolm” rabblar upp de bröder som måste med även i svenska historieböcker om rättvisa ska skipas och plats tas. Detsamma kan sägas om efterföljande spår, beatet till ”Malcolm” är ödesmättat, medan skivans sound blir mer och mer berusande ju längre in jag lyssnar. Till Malcolm kommer en majestätisk video, det är som om Göran Olssons dokumentär ”The Black Power Mixtape” först expanderat i omfång – till att täcka inte bara USA utan Afrika, diasporan och till och med Sverige – för att sen komprimeras till fyra minuter.
