3:33 Monsieur Diop intentions;

I am very grateful for the Flow family to have invited me to create a 3h33min set for them. 
As a DJ we often feel like the given slots are too short to express ourselves fully. 

In this 3 hours I have been able to create a journey into my various sonic universe in a meaningful and gentle evolution. An opportunity that is rarely given to DJs.

I am starting with some very cinematic sounds to allow the mind to dream away and awakening in fantasy. 

The second part of the set is focused on Dubs. Dub is one of my favourite genre, it is when the sound engineer is having fun remixing the tracks while the band is asleep. Dub plates often focus on drums and bass line and can be apply to any style of music. Through DuB we can create unexpected juxtaposition of different genres. 
In that phase I also allow my mix to speed up and we are leaving the Dub section effortlessly onto Tecno music.

One of my trade mark as a DJ is to overlap grindy tecno with global grooves. It creates an instant tribal atmosphere prompt to any out of body dancing experiences! We feel warm and sweaty and the voodoo kicks in. 
In this last part of my mix I let the journey flow effortlessly between, Disco, world, funk and Latin house with a constant tecno pull.

Empty Tin is the much anticipated first single release from Nicole Brophy's latest album. With natural onstage charisma, bangin' guitar skills and come-hither-smokey vocals it's not hard to understand why she was kidnapped by Kate Miller Heidke's band for a few years! Lucky for us Nicole is now bottling that "whiskey soaked" voice into some darn tasty brew that deserves to be heard and shared.

This catchy as hell single drives along with vintage guitar sounds and cheeky 60‘s backing vocals as it lays down the hard truth that comes from pure frustration. Empty Tin is a single that speaks to all that crave so much more from life...and love.

Nicole Brophy has a voice and style compared to the likes of PJ Harvey, Lucinda Williams & La Roux. ​Stylistically it fits somewhere between gritty rock, alt-country hoedowns and moody, bluesy numbers brought together by a raw charismatic rockin’ earthy voice and boundless energy. She has an undeniable presence on stage always moving, engaging the crowd, playing acoustic or electric guitar and just driving her passion into her songs.
Growing up on the South Coast of NSW and travelling across Australia and overseas Nicole has performed to thousands at some of Australia's biggest music festivals as front woman of her previous band Dirty Lucy or as guitarist/backing vocalist in the Kate Miller-Heidke touring band.
In previous band Dirty Lucy, their highly acclaimed debut album Dark Green was released in 2003 to rave reviews and were invited to perform at SXSW & Shepherds Bush Empire in London. The follow up album Music, People Cities, Lights & Darkness was released in 2006 while touring relentlessly to every corner of the country for over 4 years solid.

Nicole is currently completing the finishing touches on her latest album recorded in a farmhouse in the Southern Highlands of NSW co-produced by Syd Green.
