For the next episode of our series we’ve invited the Russian artist Mary Yuzovskaya who is currently residing in Berlin. Mary has been cultivating her approach to electronic music for over 13 years already, and in that time she has proven herself to be a worthy vinyl-only DJ and producer. Since the year 2017 she is also running her own label Monday Off where she curates and presses work from artists that explore the trippier, more hypnotic side of Techno. 

For her contribution to SALON she recorded a vinyl-only mix and shared with us what drives her as an artist:

‘The most exciting thing about DJing, producing and running a label is a unique opportunity to create and shape your own world and let others experience it. In my sets I share some of the records that bring me joy and make me feel things in this particular time frame. If these tracks resonate with the listener I find my mission accomplished.'

"Besides being a very special event, Mostra is also a small community where respect and admiration between audiences and artists is essential. Taking place in the outstanding Montjuic Castle, Mostra had an exciting programme where dance and experimentation were at the same level.

For my live set I used some classic analog instruments, playing realtime rhythms and improvising harmonies over some preprogrammed sequences and creating deep grooves and atmospheres with the support of intense profound sub-basses.

The great comedown from the radiant warmth of summer is here and with it an opportunity to look inwards and reflect. It's this care or "Fürsorge" we give to ourselves and others that our next guest and dear friend Resom used as a theme for this mix. Recorded live almost exactly one year ago for the Swim crew in Basel, the theme of the event was to explore the concept of softness and the ethics of care. With this in mind, she set out to "send people on an acoustic trip, en route to a comfortable inner sphere - a sphere that cares acoustically also for dynamic and organically created versatile excurses." Indeed, it is this level of intention and care that makes her mixing immersive and healing.

Needless to say, we at Unrush fully embrace this theme and feel it's the perfect time to integrate it into our lives. So make yourself some tea, pause, and take care of yourself with this excursion into sound from Resom.

On this day, marked by the first full moon of the year, we consider it a special occasion for self-reflection, self-evaluation, and spiritual connection. The lunar energy surrounding us invites us to unveil and transform internal aspects, ultimately leading us to autoscopy experience or the sensation of bodily extraction, allowing us to connect more profoundly with music.

Autoscopy 001

Starting a residency at Klubd in Nicosia at the age of 23, Alex affected the electronic scene in Cyprus. Since 2013, he has been a resident at the renowned Berlin underground daytime party, STAUB—a space recognized for its sense of community and diverse electronic music offerings. Alex’s career features performances at iconic venues such as Tresor, Gare Porto, and Kantine am Berghain.
Capparis Spinosa is the imprint he founded in 2017 to present his music, including exclusive collaborations and remixes. His releases on Claudio PRC’s label “12” and the consistently dancefloor-appropriate release on Maeve exemplify the artist’s commitment to expression over confinement. The Paludose Canter EP showcases his profound and emotive dancefloor expressions traveling across various moods.

For this week's episode of "Delayed with..." Alex Tomb created a peak-time techno journey that bursts with energy, driven by thumping kick drums and sharp percussion. If you need a companion for your next workout, this mix will do the trick.

Ness [Mono Records, Prologue] Italy

Ness became interested in electronic music in the late 90's. Few years later he started djing, taking inspiration from various genres going from trance to pure experimentation. The interest in music led him to attend various courses as audio engineer or the conservatory of his hometown in Italy for some years. The need to express himself through music led him to experiment and research, the result in recent years that reflects better his music is increasingly focused on the atmosphere that is intertwined with a hypnotic rhythm.Since 2009 he founded his own label Mono Records that take the name from his own record store where he used to work since 2007 with his friend Bettosun; and releases music in labels such as Prologue, Synewave, Sonata and Varianz. The experience gained through the years leads to define his DJ sets that are characterized by a strong array of Techno and House at the same time.
