The mysterious 01FRBL imprint launches a new compilation project titled ‘The Sound of Tel Aviv'. With Frau Blau label boss's Kadosh at the controls, we are treated to a tantalizing mixture of beats and melodies covering multiple genres, all held together with soulful elegance.

Featuring key local artists with the right stuff such as heavyweights Lonya, Niv Ast, Assaf Amdursky and across fourteen tracks, we are transported to the dance floor via disparate threads of groove from indie and deep house, to afro house and techno.

Opening with the downtempo delights of Lonya’s ‘Jaglavak’ and into the eerie pianos of Takiru & Mosko’s ‘Shutter Island’ the vibe is underground and story-like from the off. Lightening the mood, Ido Morali’s ‘To Carry On’ revels in repeating arps and smile-inducing e-moments. Alt Control & Millero’s ‘B*stard’ enters the second phase of the mix with stompy stabs and a rubbery bass to move them all.

Keeping up the wonkiness, Baroth & Nizri’s ‘For You’ is a masterclass in light and dark. Going tribal for the first time, the insistence of ‘Feel Dis’ by Accent marks a seachange in the mix toward the peak night sounds backed up by Aseal Weiss & Omer Bar’s ‘Lights Out’. Heading towards more beat driven fodder the afro house stomp of Assaf Amdursky ‘Eighteen and Ten, Please’ is pure heads down groove.


Softening just a touch, Rafeal’s ‘Perc Control’ does just that. A tight percussive workout which perfectly sets up ‘Remove Yrslf From School’ by Niv Ast, a groovy, spiky slice of late night house music. Rounding out the mix we move seamlessly between genres. Osadon’s ‘Chain Reaction’ is smooth and deep at pace, while Roni Amitai’s ‘Sherry’ has nuanced touches of minimal.
Penultimate track, ‘Algorithm’ is a pure 303 playland leaving ‘Space Train’ by T-Puse & Guy Maayan to soothe the soul and leave the crowd begging for more.

Partial Press Release: The 44th release on microCastle welcomes Mike Griego to the label for his debut EP. The Argentinean artist closed out 2015 with a remix of Hernan Cattaneo & Guy Mantzur's 'Imaginarium'. That strong momentum continued as 2016 began with his much loved 'Sofia' production being licensed to John Digweed's 'Live In Montreal' mix compilation, released on Bedrock in February of this year. Mike has long been and remains one of his country's most in demand DJs, making regular appearances at Bahrein, La Boite and The Bow. Now presenting his first new productions of 2016 Mike makes his long awaited debut on microCastle with the 'Idioglossia EP', alongside remixes from BOg and Hermanez.

The EP begins with the title cut, which like many of Mike's productions has become a secret weapon for both Hernan Cattaneo and Guy Mantzur. Another track shrouded in mystery since autumn of last year, both Hernan and Guy have been highlighting their sets with its infectious energy. Hernan loved the production so much in fact he requested a special intro version to open Creamfields, Buenos Aires with in November of last year. It's distinctive grooves became immediately recognizable and a break of melodious, meditative energy ultimately seals it's brilliance. Like many great productions it came from somewhere close to the heart, as Mike describes, "I wasn't feeling good because of some family issues, and I just felt the urge to get into the studio and make music. You have to be quick to recognize these atypical moments and make the most of them. With 'Idioglossia' I was looking for the perfect balance between groove and melody, making people dance but also taking them on a trip."

Hungarian label Secret Fusion continue a fine start in 2020 with a new EP from the under the radar, but highly accomplished 88Dubs, while Echonomist, SouveQ and Alexandros Djkevingr & Greg Ignatovich all serve up remixes. Attila Bujdoso aka 88Dubs has been making music for more than a decade and counts Fideles, Undercatt and Øostil as big fans. After being the first Hungarian artist on German label Steyoyoke, he went on to release on Traum Schallplatten and Beatfreak Recordings and in 2020 promises plenty more new music. Opener 'Mature Nature' is a sublime deep and dubby techno roller. Lush synth sequences light up the airwaves and take you to a crescendo somewhere in the heavens. It's an emotive affair for tender moments in the night. Greek born Echonomist is a European favourite with credits on Innervisions and Watergate. Here he shows off his house credentials again with a remix that breaks up the beats into more broken patterns, with crashing hits and more textured, frazzled bass. SouveQ then returns to the label after a fine solo single 'Csucsok' back in late 2019. His version layers in plenty of scattered percussion, retains the cosmic melodies and ups the dramatic levels with some epic breakdowns. 88Dubs then comes correct with 'Quanta', with its vast rubbery kicks and skewed, astral synth lines. There are sci-fi details in the grooves and plenty of atmosphere is created throughout. Last of all, Swedish-Greek talent Alexandros Djkevingr links with Russian-Greek Greg Ignatovich for a third remix. It comes after the pair have made their mark with gigs around Europe and tunes on labels like Diynamic. Here they flip 'Quanta' into an upright dark disco stomper with withering chords and plenty of macho energy. Secret Fusion continues to define the intersection between house, techno and dark disco with each innovative new EP.
