The duck was awake again (for a long time)! In our eyes, Sisyphos is one of the best clubs in the world, and for years we've enjoyed visiting friends there. All the more reason for us to give you a little insight into the hallowed halls of Dampfer. Let @nicorus and @doron-plazmalab take you away, and bash away!

✔️ What are your musical influences and backgrounds?

*Doron:
Influenced by the Berlin club scene over the last 15 years, but always with the footprint of his Israeli roots and the feeling of desert and nature. Doron connects mind and body with his narrative sound. With a background of rock and gothic music, he was infected with electronic and psychedelic music at his first outdoor party in the southern sands of the Israeli desert in the early 90s. Since then he has been collecting and experimenting with all kinds of electronic genres and has been active as a DJ and promoter for more than two decades.

*Nicorus:
My influences are as diverse as music genres in general. But I have a focus on electronic music and rock music. I listened to a lot of grunge, metal and punk as a kid, but also a lot of drum n bass, hip hop, reggae and dub as a teenager. Bands like Nirvana, Nofx, High tone or Asian dub Foundation lulled me to sleep.

✔️ What do you think makes a good afterhour?

*Doron:

For me, a good afterhour is first and foremost the right music, the sound that gives you the energy to stay on the dance floor after a long sleepless night, enriched with atmospheric, uplifting, melodic harmonies and slow, groovy beats.

*Nicorus:
A good afterhour is above all an unlikely place and/or the perfect mix of people. Of course, the music shouldn't be too hard or too fast, but also not too slow, otherwise you'll run out of energy and fall asleep. It's all a question of dosage ;)

✔️ What thoughts would you like to give us about your mix?

*Doron:
... I was very excited at the beginning, it was the first time for me to play at Sisyphos and the first time ever to play B2B with my mate Nicorus, although our sound styles are a bit different there was a great harmonic musical flow between us, we definitely had a lot of fun and I think we did a great job.

*Nicorus:
This mix is special because it's a gift to my pot Doron, but also a meeting between two worlds. Doron, more in detail, dream and subtlety, and me more on the energetic and expressive side. An encounter that was a perfect fit.

Digital Diamonds presents NICORUS. Born next to Toulouse, a city that is a living cultural scene fed by the Ecole de Beaux-Arts based there, Nicorus got in touch with alternative sounds that dominated the city early on, before electronic music arrived to be the defining style. He soon began to spin records and dug deep into electronic music, presenting his discoveries to an ever-growing dancefoor. He then moved to Berlin to further develop his electronic soundscapes, where he became a resident DJ at the well-known Berlin clubs, including Keller. Also, he started a career as producer that resulted in numerous releases and remixes. About this set, he says: ""This summer, some friends asked me to play some psy-techno for their birthday and I rediscovered my love for this genre:) Thanks to them, I've started producing and going further in this direction, even though I'm not really stuck on one genre. I would describe myself more as a multi-faceted DJ, which comes across a bit in this mix, partially used for that friend's birthday party. For me, nothing is pure psy trance, techno or even deep house, I like to navigate between genres. Like on the dancefloor, I get bored of listening to the same genre in a longer set. I need to surprise and be surprised."
