Nixtape_001/2016 - I Don't Think Her Momma Can Appreciate House Music

At the forefront of house music's current resurgence scene in Jakarta, NIX is a fresh comer DJ who is marrying irresistible combo of garage-esque tunes, bass tinged house beats, minimal techno, old-school and nu-disco, and cutting edge electronics, bass and drums. His upbeat selections of music and forward-thinking sounds bring in fresh breath into the scene. And with desire to constantly reinvent himself, he always mixes eclectic choice of dancefloor-friendly and progressive sounds to rock the town's finest grounds. First DJ-ing in 2014 and been rapidly establishing himself up ever since, he has played in several domestic and international spots, including Singapore, Manila, Jogjakarta and some hot spots in Jakarta. Most recently, he was opening for MR. HAS, Rawjack Singapore on May 2015. Jakarta-born NIX's influences span from Michael Jackson to Radiohead to Beastie Boys to Bob Marley and to highly respected music producers such as: Darkside's Nicolas Jaar, Jamie XX, Bonobo, and Kaytranada. Taking opportunities by the horns when they come across in the field, NIX is someone who will no doubt be causing a buzz throughout the city, regionally and internationally during the course of this year and beyond.
