This is the second part to my soundtrack preview "Launch" and is completely original. This soundtrack starts out fairly slowly, but I am moving into some more intense, faster-tempo pieces. Stay tuned for updates!

Written with Finale 2012, I used a custom Asian ensemble (including the amazing Guzheng and Koto, some cool percussion, and several other instruments I can't remember the names of ;-). Besides the Asian ensemble, I also used Synths, Bagpipes, Choir, and several other interesting instruments and effects, including Rain and Wind. Exported with Garritan World Instruments and Personal Orchestra, with major sampling and post processing edits in Audacity (low budget), this soundtrack includes some of my best work yet.

New track!

For this track I wanted to try something different, something more touching. This track has absolutely no percussion, and is written with a thoughtful, hopeful, cheerful mood. Let me know what you all think in the comments!

Written 100% in CUBASE with Sonic SE and Garrittan Personal Orchestra over the course of the past few days, and although OK as is, I consider this a sketch to be revisited when my VSTi libraries are upgraded, probably by this fall.

Hoping to be writing a more 'epic' track shortly, I tend to swap genres in between to refresh my creativity bank. Stay tuned for more tracks!

Another quiet, soothing track from NoviceInDisguise!

This piece is in a similar style to Healing Hope, and has the same simple stacking build. It is a very simple composition, which gives it a different, more thoughtful and calming mood It also has a similar mood, and chord structure, to give it a similar feel. Everything was built from the ground up, though, to make it have a different sound.

Written 100% in Cubase, this piece used the same old Sonic SE and Garrittan libraries. Cubase handles them very well, but they are a little sub-par . . .

This is a quick improvisation of an idea I have for a new track, with a basic multi-track soundscape layer in the background. I have several other ideas for what to add to make it more interesting, and i will focus more on the tempo and timing on the final version, but for now, enjoy!

I spent a good six hours just re-designing the sounds to make them more what I needed. All I had to work with is the sound libraries that come bundled with Cubase Artist. Trying to work with them was a real pain . . . Can't wait until I can afford Native Instruments KU9!

This is another track in an experimental form. I am currently exploring a lot of ideas in preparation for some sample library upgrades in the future. I had to build the drum hit in this piece from the ground up, so sorry there isn't more going on in the percussion section. I might try and make a few more, and record some of my own sounds for future tracks. We'll see, I still will need an upgrade eventually . . . Hopefully by then I'll have this epic music genre figured out a little better.

There may be more pieces like this coming. But please comment on them and let me know what I need to work on so I can fix it, and what I'm doing right so I don't change it  ;-P

An early test track for the soundtrack to a game I am scoring.

This is an experimental track exploring the methods for creating an effective atmosphere track made in about an hour. This track loops well, and has quite a powerful mood. 

The setting is an abandoned military base, up on top of a mountain, with wires still sparking, doors swinging in the wind . . .

This is a soundtrack I wrote for a friend's game one afternoon.

Game Soundtrack

NoviceInDisguise is the brain-child of an independent artist located in the USA, and started in the spring of 2012. His story is rather short, as in early 2011 he had almost no knowledge of music, but later that year he began taking piano/music theory lessons, at the age of 13. Within two months he was composing his first piece. He quickly moved on to more advanced compositions, both for piano solo and for orchestra, and learned a lot about orchestration, tonal theory, and just about everything to do with music. He has performed in multiple recitals, and in several theatrical productions. He now plays music at his local church, and is currently working on developing his piano skills, and writing ambient and film-style tracks.

There is one thing I would like to mention, though, that I believe that every good and perfect gift comes down from above, and that the tremendous progress over the past few years is solely due to Almighty God, and His Son, Jesus Christ.
