Brihadaranyaka Upanishad is part of Shukla Yajurveda and is considered one of the principal Upanishad. 
This Upanishad is a conversation between King Janaka and Sage Yajnavalkya. This mantra is the theme of this Upanishad, which is a prayer "to guide oneself from Unreality to Reality".

Patanjali invocation prayer is a gratitude offering to Sage Patanjali, who was the first sage to structure the knowledge of Yoga in form 195 Sutras. This collection is popularly known as Patanjali Yoga Sutra. This prayer is written by King Bhoja in his Commentary of PYS, "Bhoja Vritti".

This mantra seems to be adopted by Brahmo Samaj as a well-being prayer for the world. Similar verses are mentioned in some Purana such as Bhavishya Purana but the source of exact mantra is untraceable.
