Unsere Nr. 230 kommt heute von einem Berliner Künstler welcher mir das erste Mal mit seinem Podcast für https://soundcloud.com/elektro-uwe aufgefallen ist. Sein Sound ist zum einen träumerisch und melodisch, aber auch druckvoll und deep zugleich. Die goldene Mitte zu finden gelingt ihm immer. Nicht nur in seinen Podcasts, sondern auch in seinen unzähligen Live-Aufnahmen.

Die Rede ist von Niemand & Keiner der mit seinem groovigen, melodischen und hypnotischen Sound immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut ist. Dazu aber später mehr. Zudem ist er Teils des Berliner Kollektivs ‚Rummels Musikanten – Rummels Bucht‘ und Mitveranstalter bei https://soundcloud.com/schiffbruch-berlin und dem ‚Animal Farm Festivals‘ (https://www.facebook.com/animalfarmfestival). 

Sein für uns aufgenommenes Set hat mich anfangs tatsächlich vollkommen überrascht. Das Tempo ist nämlich deutlich niedriger als ich es von Thomas eigentlich kannte, schiebt aber dennoch in von ihm bekannter Art gekonnt an. Generell ist der Anfang des Podcasts phänomenal. Hier treffen nämlich hypnotische, melodiöse und groovige Soundelemente aufeinander und verbinden sich mit cineastischen Stimmsamples zu einem extraterrestrischen Erlebnis. Im weiteren Verlauf eröffnet er dem Hörer sein eingangs beschriebenes Soundverständnis und wechselt konsistent zwischen Spannung und Entspannung ab. Trotz des reduzierten Tempi grooven die Tracks immer noch und entfalten erst eine tiefenerweiternde Wirkung. Hier ein Clap, da eine verschrobene Acidline, da ein Stimmsample….ja das passt. Und dies über 91 Minuten. Definitiv eine Klasse Interpretation seiner Afterhour.

Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise, die wie gemacht für eine Afterhour ist. Keine Phrase, keine Fake-News, sondern ehrliche Worte eines musikverliebten Spessarters.

Ich danke dir vielmals Thomas für dieses besondere Set. Umwerfend tiefenergreifend und erfrischend gut. Chapeu.

Anbei noch seine Stellungnahme zu unseren Fragen:

▱ Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse? Was ist dein musikalischer Hintergrund?
Als Kind der 80er und die Jungend verbracht in den 90ern, sind meine musikalischen Einflüsse durchlebt von Punk, Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, 90er Techno. Meine große musikalische Leidenschaft war aber Drum & Bass und Breakbeat – damit habe ich auch begonnen aufzulegen und Musik zu machen. Ich habe es geliebt in dunklen Kellern von Industriegebäuden zu diese zu tanzen und aufzulegen. Später kam auch ein D&B Bandprojekt zu Stande. Mit einer Crew aus Leipzig, Dresden und Chemnitz haben wir auch die ersten Jahre den D&B Floor auf der Fusion in den 90ern unterstützt und aufgebaut. Jetzt werde ich gleich sentimental und muss mal meine alten D&B Scheiben wieder raus holen :-D

▱Was macht deiner Meinung nach eine gute Afterhour aus?
Für mich macht eine gute Afterhour aus, diese mit leiben und großartigen Menschen zu verbringen, wo man sich fallen lassen kann und (insofern noch möglich) ein guter Austausch stattfindet. Weiterhin natürlich auch noch wichtig, die Stimmung und gute Musik. Wo oft die Meinungen in solch einer Runde auseinander gehen.
Eine gute Afterhour ist eigentlich wieder viel zu lange her :(

Niemand & Keiner first met in 2011. Two stories became one and friendship became a sound. Epic, plane basses meet dreamy spheres, three-four time meets downtempo, the new meets the well-known and every set followed the plot of both.

T'was the night before Christmas, he lived in a crowd,
In a 40 man berthing, with shipmates so loud.
I had come down the Sail with presents to give,
And to see just who in this rack did live.
I looked all about, a strange sight did I see,
No tinsel, no presents, not even a tree.
No stockings were hung, just poopy-suit close at hand,
On the bulkhead hung pictures of far distant land.
He had medals and badges and awards of all kinds,
But one in particular seem to catch my eye.
Why they were Dolphins, with a tiny submarine ... pinned on with pride,
A sobering thought came into my mind.
For this place was different, it was so dark and dreary,
I had found the house of a Submarine Sailor once I could see clearly.
The Sailor lay sleeping, silent and alone,
Curled up in his rack, dreaming of home.
The face was so gentle, the berthing in such good order,
Not how I pictured a Submarine Sailor.
Was this the hero whom I saw on TV?
Defending his country so we all could be free.
I realized the families that I've seen this night,
Owed their lives to these Submarine Sailors who were willing to fight.
Soon 'round the world, the children would play,
And grownups would celebrate a new Christmas Day.
They all enjoyed freedom each month of the year,
Because of the Sailor, like the one lying here.
I couldn't help but wonder how many lay alone,
On a cold Christmas Eve on a sea, far from home.
The very thought brought a tear to my eye,
I dropped to my knees and started to cry.
The Sailor awakened and I heard a rough voice,
"Santa, don't cry, for this life is my choice."
Defend the seas this day,
So others may rejoice.
The Sailor rolled over and drifted to sleep,
I couldn't control it, I continued to weep.
I kept watch for hours so silent, so still,
And we both shivered from the night's cold chill.
I didn't want to leave on that cold, dark night,
This Guardian of Honor, so willing to fight.
Then the Sailor rolled over and with a voice soft and pure,
Whispered, "Carry on Santa, it's Christmas Day,

Niemand & Keiner first met in 2011 – two stories become one and friendship becomes a sound. Between Deep House, Melodic Techno and Tech House, the two combine their opposites: Epic, plane basses meet dreamy spheres, three-four time meets downtempo, the new meets the well-known and every set follows the plot of both. But music is more than just vibrations, it’s also always space. That’s why Niemand & Keiner also dedicate themselves to create spaces: in clubs, on festivals, or simply in the park next door, using these spaces to tell their story - of a time when open airs were still for free and spontaneous and raves were still political. And the world is responding – first in Berlin, then in Europe and finally worldwide. But just like every good story also this one takes twist – Niemand is gone, Keiner is still here, and with „Niemand & Keiner“ the sound is living on. Music is the only thing, that really counts here.

The cover art is provided by Radka Tiarksova and her visionairy art project Radka Soulart. We believe that a combination of different styles of art will allow our senses to expand, feel & see the whole picture within. The name of this beautiful piece is 'Cosmic Dance'.
Do you remember the time when we could hardly wait to go to our long awaited festival. The soaring joy you get when you think of those timeless nights, pulsating with the heartbeat of the crowd, the whirling bodies covered in rainbow lights and the spectacular installations that invite you to discover. The encounter with the most unique, radiant and friendly people you can imagine. Music that goes straight to your heart and soul giving you the special memories that will stay with you forever.
Well, 2020 writes a new script. In the context of music we'll all have this year in mind as the year without the colorful dances, without these magical moments and with a mass of unemployed artists.
A bunch of fresh musical treats are prepared. Our confetti guns are loaded and the feet scream for freedom and expression on the dance floor. Dancing. Living. Feeling. Being human again. Peacefully together. Fading out a world driping of injustice, greed and exploitation. May this year be the beginning. The beginning of something greater, the beginning of a world where we will be able to celebrate life every single day in pure bliss. May truth & justice arise and triumph so that every single being on earth can live the life they desire, in peace, freedom and ultimate harmony.

Grundgütiger, was ist denn hier los?! 

Völligst losgelöst und mit aufgebrezeltem Style geht's kunterbunt Richtung Wochenende. Lockerlässig - wie die zu leicht zu groß gewordene Hose nach nem zu langen Wochenende - weiß wieder niemand und keiner wie das denn eigentlich mit der Hose passieren konnte. 

Ist  mittlerweile ja auch egal, denn wir sind mittendrin im Geschehen und können uns eh nicht mehr auf den Sesseln halten. Ist geil und hat richtig Zunder! Alles was nicht niet- und nagelfest ist, drückts jetzt aus allen Löchern.

About Niemand & Keiner

German Version:
Niemand & Keiner begegnen sich erstmals 2011 – aus zwei Geschichten wird eine und aus Freundschaft wird ein Sound. Zwischen den Genres Deep House, Melodic Techno und Tech House verbinden die Beiden ihre Gegensätze: Episch flächige Bässe treffen auf verträumte Sphären, 4/4 Takt auf Downtempo, Neues auf Altbekanntes und jedes Set folgt dem gemeinsamen Plot. 
Musik ist mehr als Schwingung, Musik ist immer auch Raum. Aus diesem Grund gestalten Niemand & Keiner immer wieder Räume, in Clubs, auf Festivals oder einfach im Park nebenan und erzählen auch auf diese Weise ihre Geschichte - von einer Zeit, in der Open-Airs noch spontan und kostenlos und Rave noch politisch war. Und die Welt geht in Resonanz – zuerst in Berlin, dann europaweit und international.
