he sixth vinyl release from Manjumasi is a proper dance floor offering from label co-founder atish, featuring two originals built around smoky samples that evoke the basement club vibes of yesteryear.

First up is He’s Gone with an irresistible vocal and a hooky groove. Second is title track Birdland with a warped sax sample carrying the track onwards. On the B-side are a pair of groove-forward remixes of Birdland.

Steve O’Sullivan offers up a dubby minimal interpretation that takes the tune’s elements in a more hypnotic direction.

Zone+ explores a floatier melodic realm, letting the saxophone waft above a bouncy rubber bassline.

For release number forty-two we welcome Sam Jaspersohn back to the label with an absolutely hypnotic and captivating deep vocal track Danse. Tastefully spun synth lines oscillate in and around the French vocal hook, with a particularly adventurous arpeggio in the breakdown taking the track into truly wild territory. On remix duties are the duo of Bar.ba and Padre, turning in two versions of their quirky and delightfully off-kilter reinterpretation of the original. Their versions push a chunkier rhythmic groove with extra stomp some zippy melodic edits on both the vocal and synth lines, just can’t help but make you move.

Their upcoming release comes from Alessandro Diga, someone not new to the game, but finally picking up some pace, through lovely productions. Having released under labels like Subjekt Recordings, Kontor Records & Cinematique (A label we truly respect also), the man has the skill and the confidence to push his career and now here we are :  

His track "Skies Are Crying" is a simple yet complex arrangement bringing together the best elements of both. An easy to follow melody and the complex building of tension through little details is quite special to me. I also adore the lovely surrounding of constant wavy sounds, that bring a lot of vibrations into the mix.  Just an uplifting, but still deep experience that has nothing holding it back.

Manual's "The Grace's Secret" EP by Allessandro Diga will drop on the 1st of May as an Beatport exclusive!
