Whether the headspace of a character in a feature film or the messaging of a major brand, his music must convey emotion to heighten, or even substitute for, any exposition. This is a little taste of what to expect on my ENDANGERED Art Basel Opening Night at Treehouse Miami for this year's Art Basel Art Festivities in Miami Wednesday December 2nd. ENDANGERED is a Music & Art collaboration between me and Miami-based Art Performance crew Party Robot. A unique concept for underground house music lovers and live art enthusiast. 

I've always been inspired by art. When I saw myself with the opportunity to collaborate with my long time friend Lorenzo and his partner Lash on a project that would merge my art with theirs, I jumped right at it. I saw an opportunity to offer a unique experience to music lovers, a visual experience. To have them enter a world we created, a lost world where dark vibes, groove and mystical energy prevails. To me music is more than simple sounds and melodies. Music is about about a journey that connects body and mind. I am extremely proud that we are bringing this party to such a great and respected venue as Treehouse and to us is an honor to have you enter our twisted reality for a night that you'll never forget!

Throughout the album, there is often a firmly rooted drum groove that keeps things locked to a late night dance floor vibe, and Haumea and Picture are perfect examples of that. Haunting vocal chops, shadowy strings and angelic keys colour pieces like Flow of Tears, Justin Loves and Inside, before the closing trio of Innocence, with its downbeat bass notes and wallowing vocal whispers, Borderline, littered with cowbells and synth drones, and Time Goes Fast, an optimistic closer complete with dreamy female vocals that leaves you feeling enlightened.

Overall then this is a sensational and absorbing album that really showcases Masaya’s fantastic sense of mood and groove, leaving us excited for the album remixes package set for later in the year. Her story continues on Chapter 24.

Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli aka Modular Project announce the launch of their new label, in partnership with Rebirth Records.
 
Born and raised between Como and Milan, Alberto and Alessandro quickly shared their love for electronic music and the great passion for vintage synths and drum machines. They started to produce together in 2012 and released on labels like OFF, Moodmusic and Perpetualis Music before joining Rebirth in 2017 with their remix of the Blond:ish classic ‘Wizard Of Love’.

The 003 is a special Ep from Modular Project on the label. ‘Alphaville’ is an hypnotic journey through shades of indie electronica, new wave and their signature sounds, while ‘Another Glimpse’ is a beautiful emotional slow workout. The package comes with two strong remixes from Nuno Dos Santos and Fairmont. Amsterdam dj and producer Nuno Dos Santos reworked 'Alphaville' adding a darker and trippy touch, while Jake Fairley aka Fairmont, key force in the canadian electronic music scene, gave 'Another Glimpse' a beautiful deeper and atmospheric appeal.

Martin Merkel is about to release a beautiful 3-tracker-EP and delievers a stunning bassline leading tune called "Constantin".

It's a production, that screams to be played all around the globe - music perfect for this year, as Patrice Baumel has brought this kind of sound to the masses. I was already waiting for music like this to come up and it seems like Martin was smart enough to see the popularity of it. Transposing synths and a good feeling for the right tension and arrangement of the track resulted in a professional sounding production, that will give Mr. Merkel many new fans. 

While the track stays forward-pushing it never goes too far, to keep a pleasant volume and tempo, making it a clubby tune, that can very well be enjoyed anywhere, if you wanna have a little quick, secret dance.
