The Blow Monkeys banda liderada por el compositor, guitarrista y pianista escocés Dr. Robert (Robert Howard), la banda se formó en 1981 y se completó con Mick Anker al bajo, Neville Henry al saxofón y Tony Kiley a la batería. Hicieron su debut discográfico en 1984 con la publicación del álbum Limping for a Generation pero no fue hasta dos años más tarde cuando consiguieron su primer éxito internacional con el sencillo "Digging Your Scene", extraído de su segundo álbum Animal Magic.

With the beginning of this new year, we start with a super serial called "the roots of Italo Disco", where through 5 super mixes we will transport you to the year 1983, it was a time when some musicians in Italy spreaded worldwide the first masterpieces of Italo Disco Music.

Producers, writers, record labels and more, in small studios, were making some stuff that it was just for fun in some cases, the beginning of a good bussiness for others, and some just as a hobby and open a path in music on those years.

They never could imagine that after almost 40 years, many of them are admired and respected, but most of all, legends of the best music that Italy has ever created: The Italo Disco.

Con l'inizio dell'anno nuovo, inizieremo con una Super Serie di 5 Mix chiamata "Le radici della Italo Disco" e vi trasporteremo nel 1983 quando alcuni musicisti in Italia lanciarono i primi capolavori italiani in tutto il mondo.

Produttori, scrittori, cantanti, etichette discografiche e altro ancora, in piccoli studi hanno creato quello che per alcuni di loro era solo un divertimento, per altri era l'inizio di un'attività redditizia e, per altri ancora, solo un hobby per crearsi uno spazio nella musica di quegli anni.

Non avrebbero mai immaginato che, dopo quasi 40 anni, oggi molti di loro sono ammirati, rispettati ma, soprattutto, sono leggende di uno dei generi più importanti che l'Italia abbia creato: la Italo Disco.
