I think this is my most recent composition and may turn out to be my last.
Consequently, it has a special place in my life and creative history.

Garry (stage name Paul Arlington) had an idea for a play to be called The People Upstairs (not yet written so far as I know). To date threrfore just the song remains. 
This song holds the record in my collection for the shortest time taken to complete it - the tune took me only just over an hour.
It's probably my most popular number.

This soundtrack was for the final sequence of the film 'Beatrix Potter - The Early Years,' produced & filmed by Martin Patmore at the dawn of his highly distinguished filming career at the BBC.
I conducted - but not very well :) Had to abandon using a chopstick as a baton because I kept hitting the microphone with it!
Incidentally, I composed & notated this piece on the morning of my wedding. The sound track was recorded the next day. I fulfilled this commission only just in the nick of time!

Titles theme composed for a film 'Beatrix Potter: The Early Years' made by Martin Patmore of the BBC

I came across this track in my archive just today. (I'd forgotten about it - having long lost touch with Sam Potter its lyricist.) Something of a gem, if I am not much mistaken.

I've performed this in a bar/restaurant in central London a few times  (accompanied on guitar by Peter Sills himself.)
He introduced himself to me after I had performed my song "Love's not now angels."
He kindly tried (unsuccessfully) to promote my song I called  If You Want to Walk out on me (Lyric by Steve Gimbrett)

Started more seriously in music composition in the mid-1960s with a couple of commissions for documentary film music (one shown on BBC TV), but got married and chickened out of the scene to buy food occasionally. After this, I composed away while 9 to 5 took me to lots of interesting non-musical places. Nowadays I just do spots, write, & facilitate at a small Writers' Group. (My handbook, "New Authors Start Here," uses my Pen Name Godffrey Greatorex.) Musically, I went for tunes that, hopefully, stay in the mind. Some say my 'unmannered' vocals appeal rather more than my playing. They must be right, for my playing is very underwhelming. But I do like that it seems I have some sort of melodic flair which has brought original works to share from time to time.
