This just exploded out of me in like 20 minutes, started in Groovebox and mixed in Ableton

Phoenix Ashes

Yes! Finally! After all these years of goobering and doodleflipping and uploading nibbles and bits for sharts and gargles, I FINISHED A SONG! With like, structure and shit.

There's definitely a lot more complexity and depth in this version but ironically (mostly because I'm learning how to mix) there's a lot about the original version below that I think sounds a bit better despite having whipped it together on my iPhone in about 20 minutes.

This is the result of taking the raw midi data from that sesh and loading it into Ableton to add custom instruments and effects as part of an experiment to see which would sound better. This definitely has the potential to sound better and it does in a lot of ways but considering the time commitment involved(like 4 hours on this track vs. 20 minutes on the original) compared to pulling the other track outta me cheeks in the time it takes to make spaghetti... well, time to get back to learning to mix.
