'Echoes from A Near Orbit' is a reworking of a piece of mine from some years back, 'Resonances from a Near Orbit'. 

The piece is based on an exploration of the basic structure of the harmonic series...basically, the pattern of tones within a musical note. The 'near orbit' of the title refers to the use of the earlier parts of the harmonic series for the piece's structure and materials. 

Tunings conform to standard Western tunings, as opposed to the natural tunings (based on whole-number ratios) found in the harmonic series.

Continuing to draw on Northern Ireland’s seemingly endless pool of alternative talent, Tape Throb Records brings you our first dalliance into ambient with Johnny Delaney’s Fully Automatic Model. A series of original ethereal soundscapes, TTR007 rests on deep synth notes only to move inexplicably to higher plains of electronic mastery, coursing through a series of exciting tracks guaranteed to convert sceptics to an appreciation of the ambient stratosphere. A project which is at once peaceful and provoking, reassuringly enveloping while also boundary pushing in conception, this futuristic endeavour is emblematic of a changing landscape of electronic experimentation. Complimented by artwork from Tape Throb Records’ regular moulder of shape and colour, David Morrison, this neat and ready tape radiates the cool and collected record it promises to deliver. Fully Automatic Model is an intricate multi-layered exercise in audio technology, leaving us asking once again, is there anything the maiden city can’t produce? Available through the TTR Bandcamp from April 2019.

Here is my set from Celtronic 2019, I was supporting Courtesy and Dr. Rubenstein. I did an ambient/techno performance based around my modular synthesiser and effects. It can sound very minimal but I'm happy enough with the way it turned out as this was a very different approach than previous performances (nothing was pre arranged or programmed.
