@haikusalut are an instrumental ‘dream-pop-post-folk-neo-everything’ trio from the Derbyshire Dales who’ve gained worldwide acclaim for their three studio albums, their multi-instrumental live sets (including their spectacular, eerie ‘lamp show’) and most recently, their new soundtrack to Buster Keaton’s ‘The General’, that they toured live as part of the BFI’s Comedy Genius season.

When Aljoscha's father placed cassettes of jungle, ambient and drum'n'bass in the hands of his seven-year-old son, he had no idea that he had just passed on to him the soundtrack of his life.

This heritage of multiple textures has been transformed into multiple aliases, including AJO, a character who transcends the boundaries of genres and time.

Signed to labels such as Electric Shapes and Mana Abundance, AJO invokes tribal elements and inter-astral electronic sounds. A primitive, almost animal quest dances between the German producer's synthesizers.

His new album, ‘God Is A Single Infinite Painting That Has No Frame’, adds to his psychedelic ambient and EBM-tinged electrooid explorations. Four remixes by YADÜ, La Serpiente, HyperLili and Théo Muller add an even more contemplative dimension to this opus, released on Ethos Records.

Episode 54 was transmitted November 2024 and for this episode I tried to create a space for contemplation… with sounds sometimes reminiscent of classic 4AD records but coming from a totally different music field and very much from the now so to speak...
