Unnatural = high score truly is the best way to play

No, real way to play is to dump Pow and take all the scarred veteran backgrounds so that you start with like 2 disorders and 25 san.

On the Occult skill: Occult is what humans have made over the "actual" truth of the Unnatural skill; Alchemy, Thelema, tribal magic of the Nommo, etc. Nothing for the "actual" stuff of the Unnatural skill, even something like "how to kill this thing." In my games it's been an investigation skill, like HUMINT for cult and other believer world frames for the party; giving insight and help in infiltration, or to predict/suggest the potential ends of a given cult plan or action by understanding the "Occult" tradition or trapping they're following, even if the actual Unnatural causes remain obscure. So, a tablet with a "true" depiction of any Unnatural being would be incomprehensible without any Unnatural skill: "I dunno; some hairy toad?" But finding that tablet on a pile of trash would let one roll Occult to answer the question "wait; is this an altar," and to glean info like the nature of the cult that would create such an altar; take a general guess at their intents and values; etc.
