I had a dream that Birmingham's one and only Low Steppa and dark bass trendsetter Taiki Nulight teamed up to collaborate on some music, it was glorious. When I woke up I thought, "This could never happen." As I checked my email that day there was not one but two songs by the innovative British producers. It's a Night Bass miracle! The two songs are a perfect union of both producers' styles. "Nu Jam" is a dark and bouncy roller with a big fat sub guiding the way, while "Nose Powder" takes us to a fist pump level of energy around a minimal but undeniably banging bassline. Five years and 99 EPs later, the ‘One Hundred’ EP is here at last. To celebrate, we brought together legendary purveyors of @NightBassRecords music for a unique blend of genres that culminate into one expertly crafted 9-track release. Label boss @ACSlater lights the torch with ‘Big Loud Heavy Bass’ - a track that speaks true to its name. @Chris-Lorenzo-1 keeps the big bass energy up with ‘Dash’, a certified club-banger that bounces seamlessly into the long-awaited Spicy Noodles VIP mix, courtesy of @Flava_D. A refreshingly melodic intro comes through on @Shift-Key’s ‘Ragz’, before descending into a shape-shifting bassline drop, paving the way for @Taiki-Nulight-uk’s musically diverse “Kush”, with the iconic Dread MC’s vocals. After that we have @djJayRobinson & @Jack-Beat’s ‘Hustler’, a stunning mix of each of their synth-laden bouncy sounds, that send you into the tinkering synth riffs on @Petey-Clicks' ‘Ugly’, an energetic number that’ll keep your feet shuffling into the next track, @Sinden’s ‘Work That’. This house number hits heavy from the start with a nice mix of vocal samples and a bumpin’ house beat. Finishing it all off we have Bijou’s ‘Used 2 This’ with @PapiYanks’ rap flow layering an ominous beat that leads into a modern visitation of the classic @Bijou bassline sound.
