Joachim Bodin a.k.a. Yoba has been involved in the scene for a long time both as a producer and as a DJ. Yoba’s musical path has been touched the realms of several styles of electronic music, settling in groovy minimal and house. During recent years he has released music on Seaweed Records, AJAJAJ, Whoyostro (UA) and Psicodelica (CO). You might have seen him play at NEU, Trädgården, BLOCK8, Kvarteret and many more.

Italy is a country that’s never been shy when it comes to electronic music. The home of some of the scene’s most dedicated, passionate and talented DJs and producers, it embraces electronic music like few other countries across the world. As a country, Italy itself has long been a melting post for different sounds and cultures — and its modern musical output is no different. Patrizio Restelli’s Castanea label serves up a firm case in point. 

Established in Patrizio’s hometown in northern Italy, the label has played host to some of contemporary minimal’s most exciting names: think the likes of Topper, Pressure Point, Sedee, Birdsmakingmachine, Zefzeed and more. Under his Modbox alias, Patrizio is similarly responsible for a quite brilliant output that showcases the very best of modern house and techno. The label’s latest release sees Restelli turn to Romanian producer Nu Zau for an original EP, with the remix coming from a long-time favourite of ours, Dubtil. This set is a milestone, marking Aleksandar's debut vinyl-only recording. Though his passion for unearthing sonic treasures has long been established, learning the delicate art of the turntables required patience and perseverance.

Anyways, take it as an audio postcard from Berlin as it encompasses the city as it is - psychedelic and elevated but sometimes dark and strange.

The first guest on the flipside is versatile DJ & producer Julian. He prepared a special set made only with his own productions, so we are very eager to listen and delve into his universe. 
Based in Bucharest, he is deeply in love with vinyl and strongly affected by trippy - groovy tunes. Julian is passionate in playing his carefully selected records and music produced by him and his close friends.
He is the founder of recently established record label, Spacebased Recordings. The first release was signed by the deep house pioneer - Seafoam - and 002 is currently in the making.

If you’ve been in or around Berlin’s house and techno scene over the past few years, chances are Alessia Ceruti is a name you’re familiar with. Born in Italy, she now lives in Berlin (from where she runs the much-acclaimed 60waves record store alongside Brouqade boss Dana Ruh), and also works as a DJ and a label owner. 

The latest artist to step up for our podcast series, Ceruti is also a wicked DJ, and someone who naturally keeps her ear to the ground for brilliant sounds. Following an intense year where she was hospitalised during the summer, she’s now back at it and feeling more invigorated than ever. We caught up with her recently to discuss her journey in music, how her illness gave her a new lease of life and much more besides…

Alessia Ceruti, Nightclubber Podcast 203

Hailing from the vibrant coastal city of Barranquilla, Colombia, Alexander Gentil is a DJ and producer who has been making waves in the music industry with his experimental approach to productions. However, his journey into the world of music was influenced not only by his Colombian roots but also by his time spent in New York City, the city he now calls home. During his formative years, Gentil developed a deep passion for the dance club scene and the DJs who electrify it, ultimately leading him to pursue a career in music. His dedication to the craft led him to study sound engineering, a versatile skill that has paved the way for his success as a DJ and producer.

Gentil’s diverse musical journey has seen him mix and master records across a wide range of genres, working with both established and emerging artists. Among his proudest achievements is a double-vinyl remix release of "Making Ends Meet," a nearly two-decade-old hidden gem by Craig Richard's little-known alias, Scumdolly. Gentil breathed new life into this classic, showcasing his talent for crafting unforgettable sounds. And more recently, Gentil released his own track, “Renazanz,” signed to DJ Mag Latin America. What’s more, Gentil also runs the Errant Recordings label, a project “infused with diversity, experimentation and modern day tech advances.” We caught up with Alexander recently, to learn more about the label, his future plans and also to chat over the mix he did for us…

With one foot in New York fueling her creativity and influencing her in the way only New York can, and the other firmly in Berlin, her second home, exposing her to some of the best clubs in the world - Karina is one to watch our for. These two huge influences along with her international upbringing in Norway, Egypt and Poland and her creative multilingual mindset all shine brightly through her music.

10 years living and working on the famous mediterranean island of Ibiza has seen her involved with some of the biggest promoters in the music industry such as Cocoon Ibiza and Monza. An avid collector and player of all things vinyl, she is also one of the residents and creators of Ibizas most successful weekly open-air party The Zoo Project. Berlin, her second home, exposed her to its raw creativity helping her develop her production skills whilst playing at venues such as Kater Holzig, Sisyphos or Kitkat.

We're delighted to have Karina on board for our 206th edition with a fusion of minimal, house and dubs.
