Rolling into the summerof 2022, Mosaic turns to Berlin based Yorkshireman and co-founder of Tact Recordings, Fletcher, for Mosaic LTDX6 .

Following his impressive “Mechanical Garden” debut LP on Mosaic DTL, ‘Violet Shift’ focuses on Fletcher’s ability to weave magic for the dancefloor with DeepChord’s Mike Schommer adding a contrasting touch of class on the remix.

Title track ‘Violet Shift’ is a trip into the light fantastic: centring around a delicate fusion of deftly programmed beats and continuously shifting filtered chords. Brought together with muted pulses of sub bass and splashes of effects, it’s a masterful exercise in restraint and a true delight with repeat listening. 

Taking it the other way, Schommer’s remix focuses on a four to the floor journey: adding tribal elements and tight percussion that inject more urgency into the mix. A tough but fair take, you wouldn’t expect anything less. 

Last but not least, the dawn chorus of ‘BOHTS’ eases you into the mood with a trimming of airy optimism and brushy bounce to the beats as warm chords sweep their way through

James Curd joins forces with up and coming artist Jonasclean on his latest PRONTO instalment, once again inviting a sublime remix cast to offer interpretations of the EP's title track, ‘Mullen It Over’.

Curd has long been operating at the vanguard of the dance underground. Chicago-raised and now based in Adelaide, Australia, the talented producer has established himself among the movement’s most reliable protagonists, turning out dancefloor heat for labels like Exploited, Dirtybird, Tsuba, Trax Records, Classic Records and Ministry Of Sound while finding time to score music for film, TV and video games. Joining him here is Our Yunus Records frontman and long-serving producer Jonasclean, providing slick vocal textures on this profoundly alluring composition. 

‘Mullen It Over’ features sensual synth motifs entwined over thumping house rhythms, the evocative melodies gorgeously complimenting Jonasclean’s searing vocal as throbbing bass adds boundless weight to the groove. The arrangement brims with nocturnal charge, effortlessly ebbing and flowing to maintain dancefloor magnetism. 

NYC resident and master of the deep Fred P rides in with a typically affecting take. Regenerating the signature bass line amidst soul-soothing pads and mystical overdubs, he reframes the music as a spiritually-charged meditation. Hypnotic percussion undulates over heartfelt chords as the distant vocal adds texture as off-world melodies elevate the emotion. 

Next, Lumberjacks In Hell frontman Marcel Vogel steps in with a kaleidoscopic rework, emphasising the harmonics and adding abundant soul to the mix as agile motifs glide though summery chords, the distinctive vocal piercing through the mood-lifting mist before full-bodied synth lines envelop the rhythm. 

The loose-limbed ‘Original Sketch Version’ offers a floor-focused instrumental take, with propulsive chords standing in for the vocal lead as the spaced-out orchestration meanders over crunching drums and rich synth bass, before house legend Robert Owens rides in to add a trademark vocal to the ‘Original Sketch Version’ on the newly named ‘Tried For Love’. Here, Owens’ soul-drenched vocal provides an irresistible alternative to the dubbed-out instrumental, lending itself brilliantly to the Chi-town bump of the composition. 

As we’ve come to expect from PRONTO, this is yet more essential club material, with each version bringing something unique to the sonic stew. In a word, unmissable.

Rising Hamburg artist Murphy is a regular at most of the city’s nightlife institutions besides being the co-founder of Smaland. A little while back he’s made his debut as a producer and meanwhile has three tracks under his belt. In the latest episode of absolutely on music Marvin, Murphy’s real name, speaks with Torture the Artist-head Holger about his upcoming label, gives  some more insights on his artistic being, musical influences as well as the Smaland cosmos. Additionally, Murphy pleases us with an hour full of blissful deep and minimal music. The show ceases with sets from Lukas Urbaum and Holger Breuer.
