Prolific house DJ and producer Thierry Tomas teams up with Belgian producer Pat Lezizmo for a two tracker on Steve Bug’s home for more reduced, hypnotic, and raw sounds, Sublease Music.

The Boy Who Recorded Birds is the title track for this release, and sees the pair collaborate on an amped up groover that instantly draws listeners (and dancers) in and keeps them locked throughout. A swinging, deep groove sets the tone, while the addition of various vocal snips, synth washes, and a funky bass keep the track moving and evolving throughout. A real treat from start to finish.

The Girl Who Drew Flowers maintains the funkiness, but boils things down to a more minimal state of affairs. The track leaves lots of space to get lost in, while carrying the vibe ever forward via clever drum programming and an infectious groove.

'Zurich’s Elvis Cassetta delivers a dazzling four-track debut EP to his brand-new WhyNot imprint, set to be released on 17th March. Complete with a refined deep house sound, this is an expertly crafted body of silky smooth grooves to get floors shaking.

Down With Us instantly displays Cassetta’s effortless ability to create a hot house swing using just a handful of elements – subtle groove, skittish percussion and a sultry vocal sample. The whole track is thrown out wide in the breakdown, but then as the bassline is brought back in, Cassetta draws it all back in close for an intimate dancefloor moment. Definitely one of those hands-in-the-air peak-time scenes.

Dreamy synth pads steadily build under a thunderous kick drum pattern on the EP’s second track, Focals Finest, which takes the tempo up a notch for a real sweat inducer.

Finally, it’s all about a raw bassline on the metallic and techy Jupiter Groove. Contorted slices of spoken word dip in and out throughout to create another level of leftfield, danceable percussion. While the low end is the main focus on the original, in Silat Beksi’s remix, we hear a brighter take on the deep groove. There’s a swirling sample, more prominent key stabs, eerie vocals and a teasing smattering of melody. Percussive elements are thrown from all angles, and they pulsate up into the rafters of the lofty house track, leading you further into a state of hypnosis.

Overall, these are house tracks made right – a classy release fit for warming in crowds in style.

'With its roots in Leipzig, Bondage-Music has developed a cogent back catalogue which draws on the principles of Romanian minimalism whilst evincing a certain verve prevalent across dance floors in Berlin and further afield. Previous releases from Mihai Popoviciu, Pornbugs and NTFO, have woven a clear thread within the catalogue - a thread defined by the adroit use of distilled elements.  
Adding to this thread with the next release on Bondage-Music is the masterful producer Sascha Dive. Based in Frankfurt and with releases stretching back to 2005, Sascha Dive has earned his status as a venerated contributor to the scene and has developed a musical identity characterised by a combination of deep, moody synthesis and precise, punchy drums.
His 'Beautiful People' EP develops these tropes and - as the name would suggest - suffuses them with a lick of dub. Sunken pads, deftly woven melodies and dense subs are rendered to a lucid finish across a versatile and effective set of tools which slot neatly into the Bondage-Music catalogue.'

After a 20-year wait, Vince Watson is finally releasing the highly anticipated follow-up to his classic album, 'Moments In Time,' which he released on Ibadan and Alola. The new album is called 'Another Moment In Time,' and we get a sneak peek with the album sampler, featuring three tracks selected from the LP. One is a familiar number, one is a fresh track, and the third is a Bandcamp Exclusive. These tracks embody the vibe, energy, and direction of Watson's debut two albums.


The first track, 'Rendezvous,' was initially released on Carl Craig's Planet E in 2006 and quickly became a cult classic with its beautiful chords and Detroit house influences. The second iteration, 'Another Rendezvous,' appeared on Osunlade's Yoruba in 2018 and took the track in a more Afro House direction. This latest version brings a fresh twist, flipping the deep, soothing Balearic vibes of the original into upfront deep house territory. The track made its debut at Carl Cox's birthday party in Ibiza during a live set at DC10 in the summer of 2022.
The second track on the sampler, 'Peace Of Mind,' is a Bandcamp exclusive. The full album version of this track features Jon Dixon [UR/Detroit] as a co-Writer, but this sampler contains the original version with Vince on keys. Finally, the closing track, 'Whispers,' is the first of twelve new tracks on the album. It immediately reminds listeners of the early Vince Watson sound, with dreamy pads, moody chord changes, and plenty of bleeps. The track brings a fresh twist to old memories and melancholy, capturing both the old and the new. If the sampler is any indication, the full-length album set to release in September is going to be one of the most remarkable albums of the year.
