Rolling into the summerof 2022, Mosaic turns to Berlin based Yorkshireman and co-founder of Tact Recordings, Fletcher, for Mosaic LTDX6 .

Following his impressive “Mechanical Garden” debut LP on Mosaic DTL, ‘Violet Shift’ focuses on Fletcher’s ability to weave magic for the dancefloor with DeepChord’s Mike Schommer adding a contrasting touch of class on the remix.

Title track ‘Violet Shift’ is a trip into the light fantastic: centring around a delicate fusion of deftly programmed beats and continuously shifting filtered chords. Brought together with muted pulses of sub bass and splashes of effects, it’s a masterful exercise in restraint and a true delight with repeat listening. 

Taking it the other way, Schommer’s remix focuses on a four to the floor journey: adding tribal elements and tight percussion that inject more urgency into the mix. A tough but fair take, you wouldn’t expect anything less. 

Last but not least, the dawn chorus of ‘BOHTS’ eases you into the mood with a trimming of airy optimism and brushy bounce to the beats as warm chords sweep their way through

For the next edition of Mosaic's LTDX series, label boss Steve O'Sullivan invites a trio of artists to lay down some seriously infectious beats on 'Rhythm Method Vol.5'.

Kicking off proceedings with '3 Days Cooler,' from Cologne based Hidden Sequence, you'll find yourself instantly locked into the groove. One of those simple yet effective stripped back jams that balances rhythmic effervescence with subtle evolving elements, steeped in that all important dubby twist.

Next,Berlin based Yorkshireman Fletcher steps up with the robotic twinge of 'From Somewhere' - fusing electro styled drum programming with a heavy dose of psychedelics, the sort of thing you'd expect from Romanian minimalist party starters. A powerful rolling and intoxicating brew, this one will find favour among the sound purists. 

Last but not least, trusted Canadian talent Jay Tripwire pairs up with newcomer JayBee with the heady, off-kilter throb of 'Cookie Maschine' - a punchy, incessant ride that just keeps on coming back for more as spatial overtones rise and fall.

The journey through a magical land led to an abandoned village. The intricate geometry of ethnic patterns, shaped as curly plant shoots, is flourishing thanks to Arabic wind instruments and interweaving of rhythmic lines. The culture of oriental fairy tales has been created specifically for the city of theaters, in which the atmosphere of Montmartre reigns and the inhabitants honor their past, as well as absorb the realities of modernity.

Beat In Me is back for its second release. Recognized for bringing some of the most cutting-edge Romanian DJs to his event series under the same name in Tokyo, RAHA keeps pushing the envelope with Beat in Me. This time he introduces, with sincere confidence, two Japanese artists he has long supported: Tomohiro Yano and Yuji Kobayashi.

"Sazae EP" features two original tracks from Tomohiro and Yuji, respectively, and a collaborative work from both, perfectly displaying their raw talent and individual styles.
'BW 002' finds Tomohiro Yano exploring sounds profoundly connected to the Romanian house scene: snappy drums, hypnotic midrange textures, and a whole panoply of very organically detailed soundscapes that work their way into the subconscious. Below the veil, a constant kick-drum on the 1's and the 3's keeps everything marching like a dance ritual on a dancefloor. 
Yuji Kobayashi expands on the idea of hypnotic dancefloor shamanism and showcases his meticulous drum programming and impeccable sound-design skills with 'Mirror Ripples’. Modular bleeps, morphing basses, ghostly textures; everything here flows organically, like a sonic ecosystem to get lost in. 
Closing the EP with a collaboration, Yuji and Tomohiro bring their best to the game. Together, they created an even deeper excursion into drum syncopation with deeply melodic undertones, a world of understated grooves made to get lost in time and space. 

Displaying a unique knowledge of house and techno music with minimal character, "Sazae EP" seems like the perfect alternative for those thirsty for the type of tracks hailing from Romania, with an added Japanese sensibility that perfectly fits those dancefloors craving for intensely hypnotic grooves.

東京で開催する同名のパーティーにて、[a:rpia:r]を始めとする数々のルーマニアンアーティストを招聘してきたRAHAの主催するレーベルBeat In Meの第二弾。今回は彼自身もかねてから強くサポートしてきた日本人アーティスト、Tomohiro YanoとYuji Kobayashiの２人を世界に自信を持って紹介するEPとなっています。

Yuji Kobayashiは、催眠的なダンスフロアシャーマニズムのアイデアを拡張し、'Mirror Ripples' で彼の緻密なドラムプログラミングと完璧なサウンドデザインスキルを披露しています。モジュラーブリープ、変形するベース、幽霊のようなテクスチャー; ここにあるすべては有機的に流れ、音の生態系のように時間を忘れて迷い込めるものです。

Dear friends, after a short break we are back and excited to share our 7nd episode with you, smoothly but ambitiously composed by Sarah alias Shy. You might have seen her on the dancefloors camouflaging behind her camera but you most certainly haven’t heard her play yet. We are therefore very proud and  grateful to be able to host her very first podcast!

Here is a little introduction about her:

Music has been a major component in Sarah’s earliest memories, spending her teenage hood in front of MTV, listening to cassettes such as Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’. It didn’t take her long to get hooked on electronic music, dancing to house and drum and bass in the early 2000’s. 

Soon after that, feeling the need to organize, she hosted free parties and opened a club (the ‘structure béton’). Knowing Sarah, this makes sense because experiencing music on a dancefloor has always strongly shaped her musical instinct. The Belgian Fuse club, where she worked as a photographer, also played a main role in her education. She got inspired by meeting and hearing many artists perform and was able to travel and to discover other club cultures, such as Berlin and Moscow. These experiences have expanded her intuition and have made her discover the sound through which she defines herself as a person. Since 2006, Sarah fell madly in love with minimal, worshiping artists like Rhadoo and clubs like Hoppetosse. 

Nowadays, when she is looking for music, she reconnects to moments she experienced in the club, when the sound has filled her with tingles and joy. But even after years of bathing in this microcosm, the decision to start playing and sharing her selection is a recent ‘coming-out’. Being in the center of attention have never been part of her ambitions, actually quite the contrary is the case. She has always fully dedicated herself to the promotion of artists she truly believes in, such as Karla Böhm and Issa Maïga, and has hosted events and published podcasts with Rôti. 

At present, she still supports the local scene with her recent project Heeze, record label, booking agency and ‘organization for electronic gatherings’ (https://soundcloud.com/beheeze). The actual sanitary crisis has even intensified her passion for electronic music, keeping in mind the influential and inspiring moments on the dancefloor(s). 

Before we send you off again to your daily life, we would like to share a quote by Sarah which we find very accurate and which you should keep in mind, even when the days seem dark: 

‘In this global chaos the most important thing is to do things that make us happy. It is a difficult time since our realm is at a standstill, but it is a huge opportunity to reinvent ourselves and to reconnect with the essence of the human being and clubbing.’
